[ None goo! But the stairs seem unobstructed. They spiral a tad, but only about once, to make sure you can't see the above level. There's a window near the spiral part, but the outside is pitch black.

The elevator does not seem to have anything of interest on the outside of it. A closer look at the goo won't give you anymore info on it. It does reflect the light prettily, though. ]

I have no idea, and I'm not really sure I want to stick my hand in it and get a feel of it to find out.

she wanders over to sora, leaning slightly around him to peer at the stairs as well. arms still folded across her middle. ]

Can we go up from here too? That might be a little less, um, obvious. Than taking the elevator.

[reconnective]

Hm...[she's close enough that he can hear her, at least, and he finds himself looking between the stairs and the elevator.] Well. Nothing says we have to get in the elevator once we push the button, right? Let's call it and check it out. If there doesn't seem like there's any clues or it looks like a bad idea, we can take the stairs.

[though he does put one foot on the bottom step as if to test the staircase.]

[ he dies instantly! Just kidding, nothing happens. They're just stairs. ]

[ alex will scuttle over and press the button for the elevator. and then immediately scuttle away from the elevator back towards the stairs, just in case something's about to ooze out of the elevator at her. ]

[reconnective]

[alex is so smart. sora watches this happen but he does move a little closer to the elevator itself to get a better look inside when the door opens. there's enough room between them and the elevator so they can bolt, but he's still curious. what do we have here...?]

[ well, the good news is, the elevator was already there, it seems, seeing as it pings and the doors open.

The bad news is there's what looks to be a headless torso oozing purple goo in the elevator. ]

[chanteuser]

[ ....





alex gets about half a syllable of a scream out before she slaps her hands over her mouth to stifle it.

[that's fine, there's also a startled yell from him, too, that he immediately muffles. but uh.]

What...? [...he'll meander toward the torso, trying to see if he can see any identifying features. first of all because i don't trust you, is it human/humanoid? and if it is, what's it wearing? does it look like the head was cut or ripped off? likewise with its other limbs.]

Where do you think the rest of it is...? [he's also going to glance at the ceiling and walls to see if the goo spread or anything.]

[ Well, it's humanoid ... in shape. The skin is an odd, greyish-blue, and calling it a headless torso was perhaps being a little rude. It's a completely limbless torso, to be more accurate! Its arms end a little past its shoulders, and its cut off right before the pelvic area. The bottom half of it seems to be what was leaking the purple goo as it continues to puddle around it, but whatever was used to remove the head and arms seems to have been done with surgical precision and shut perfectly. It does not leak at all. Because of this, the arms almost look like an odd, demented Venus de Milo. The back looks like it has holes too, though. Round, circle shapes that are leaking... more goo.

There's no goo on the ceiling or walls, but since Sora is looking around, he'll notice the elevator only goes down. It also seems to require a keycard to access. ]

[ ... ]

It's not... exactly human, is it? [ the colour of the skin is ... just so off. after a moment, alex shakes her head fiercely and looks around the elevator herself.

if the lift only goes down is there only one floor to go to? ]

I think we might need to take the stairs first. Do we, um, need to move the body...?

[reconnective]

It doesn't look like it...[can they flip the body just to check nothing's under it?] The elevator's not gonna budge, but the stairs looked like they were going up. I think you're right. We'll take those first and see what we can find and come back.

[but he'll also just kind...gently...nudge the torso with his foot to flip it. anything? sora don't loot the body, god.] Where would we even move the body to?

[ Congrats, Sora, it's a girl! Maybe. Now that he's flipped it, here are some naked alien boobs. They grow up so fast.

Although there is what looks to be an actual human finger there, covered in goo, so that's neat. ]

[ .... oh. terrible.

the boobs don't even phase her, but the finger? ]

... I really hope this doesn't mean there's another body around here. But the other two were following a trail of blood, weren't they?

[ please say they don't need to pick up the fingie. she does not want to pick up the fingie. she would much rather just take the stairs. ]

[his disney eyes. how could you. he promptly averts his gaze but...he looks at the fingie.]

Yeah. Maybe they got in a fight with something else? [hrrrgh.] You don't think we need that for a fingerscan somewhere else, do we?

[...he will just...take a piece of paper out of his pocket to pick up the finger and wrap it up. just in case. ugh gross he hates this!!!] Let's go.

[to the stairs! let's go up.]

[ The stairs, as previously mentioned, are winding. The windows to the outside are pitch black, though they don't seem tinted as they walk past them. Once they get to the next floor, they'll find a door waiting for them there. The door seems to only be able to be opened via a fingerprint scan. Above it are the words "DECONTAMINATION CHAMBER". There's no other way but forward.

Solve my puzzle before it starts, why don't you. ]

I'm glad you have a stronger stomach than I do, Sora.

well seeing as alex has contributed nothing but Legs and screaming to this adventure so far, she's going to have a peek at one of those windows and really squint to see if she can see anything in all that darkness. and she's also going to check the ceilings, because we don't trust those here. ]

I'm not exactly happy about it. [he actually looks pretty grossed out, and as the fingie leaks through the paper there's a noise of disgust.] Aw, gross! [he switches the paper to the other hand to try and fling gore off of the first hand. now both hands are gross, congratulations.

he'll approach the fingerprint scanner though to take a look. does it look like it was used recently or is there anything unusual about it?] Think this is what we're supposed to use? I don't know if our own hands would work. We don't even know where we are. [but he turns to look at alex.] What do you see?

[ Well, Alex will be glad to know that while this may look like the space station, a closer, squintier look outside shows her that that's not quite accurate. The total darkness outside seems to be caused by thick and ominous dark clouds, covering the entire sky as far as she can see. But glimpsing below eye level, she'll see the silhouette of something that almost looks like the ruins of a city far down from where they are. Wherever they've ended up, it's very high up.

There's nothing unusual about the fingerprint scanner! Only that it requires a finger print. The finger itself has nothing unusual as well, now that Sora's cleared it of goo, though it's clear that it was ripped off with little care. ]

[chanteuser]

[ oh. that's different. ]

There's something below us. Like... very, very far below us. A city, maybe?

[ she peels her gaze away from the window and back to sora, looking between the uh... lovely trinket they've picked up and the scanner. ]

We've never been here before, would we even be in their database? Maybe we should start with the, uh, finger and then try ours if that doesn't work?

[reconnective]

[...a city.]

...you know. I asked Swan about this place. Why we had access to space? They said that the Realm was connected to all the worlds out there through the nova. So, we're going to places where the flow of that nova's been messed with. Like a memory of that world.

So that city must be like that. I don't know how we got up here, but...[hm. he shakes his head.] You're probably right. We'll try it. But be ready...just in case.

[ripped fingie is a bad sign so. he'll take the finger and hold it at the very end with the paper, lining it up with the scanner. time to scan the fingie.]

[ The door stays shut. Haha, just kidding, can you imagine? But it might have been better if it had.

The door opens to the decontamination chamber, although it's immediately obvious it will not be decontaminating anything anytime soon. The automatic door to exit it on the other side is missing, the wires that connected it dangling from the top of the frame. There are scratch marks gouged deep into the walls, and blood splatters on the floor. The lights inside are flashing red in warning. ]

[chanteuser]

[ I, and Alex, hate it. ]

Oh no...

[ she's reluctant to even step in there, honestly. with the lights flashing and blood everywhere, but... well. they can't go anywhere else but forward, can they?

she sticks to the wall though, immediately looking along the walls and ceilings for any other signs of something entering or leaving, other than via the ripped off door at the other side. when she's close enough, she'll take a more detailed look at those scratch marks -- how big are they? how deep is deep? is there any blood around the scratch marks? ]

...that's not good. [that's obvious. there's no way but forward. as alex enters the room and begins looking at the walls and ceilings, he'll stick to looking around the floor. is there any other kind of furniture or the like in the chamber? if not, he'll...head toward the door and try to peer outside to see what he can see.]

[ There's nothing on the floor of the chamber itself! It's for decontamination, after all. The walls and ceiling have some devices that were probably meant to help cleanse whoever passed through, but they clearly don't work now. The gauges on the wall are several inches deep, and about two feet tall. They're in patterns of four around the chamber, and there's no blood in or around them.

Outside the chamber ... is a wrecked laboratory. The flashing red lights continue, the only light source for this area right now. Sora's check will net him a few destroyed computers and desks, complicated looking machines that have been broken in two, and... what looks to be a row of intact human sized test tubes at the back with some odd, murky liquid in them. There are blood splatters all over everything here as well. It's not immediately apparent from the contamination chamber where to go in the lab, but be sure to be careful! There's a lot of glass and broken electronics on the ground. ]
