[ There doesn't seem to be any more papers loosely hanging out here, but looking more closely at the console, they'll notice that there's a drawer next to it. The passageway seems normal; there are a few crates lining it, but nothing immediately stands out.
The console itself has a display currently displaying a small map of the laboratories. It looks like the passageway continues forward to an almost full circle back here without connecting to the other side. It's connected to four chambers on the outside of the circle throughout the way, though not all of them connect to each other, and to something in the middle on the inside of it through two walkways.
There is a built in intercom in the console, possibly to speak to the chamber below. There are numerous unlabelled buttons on the console, though pressing them does not seem to do anything. Some might display an error message over the map. ]
Oh, I saw them... but whatever they were doing to them, the machines weren't showing any signs of them still being alive. They might've died during the experiments, whatever they were for.

Whatever it is that's roaring might... um... might be using the vents to get around. Assuming that the goo is from whatever it is that's making that noise and clawed the hell out of the chamber. [ which is bad, actually. she's going to stick with the literal teen here because if there's a suddenly clanging in the vents she's not gonna have time to leg it back to him to warn him before they need to act. ]

Our only option looks like we either go back the way we came, or we keep going forward. And I didn't see an exit behind us. I found a disc that might have some information but I don't think we can use it right now.

Except now that they're right under it, there's a strange smell coming out of it? It's probably nothing. The vent doesn't look like anyone has used it recently, but it doesn't look fully solid, either.
The passageway right next to the observation room was lined with crates near the inside, but now that they've walked a little further, they'll find that there's no wall. They can see the middle contraption, which seems to be some huge, odd machine on a suspended platform only accessible via the walkways. Don't trip! The hole goes deep. The space above them is empty as well.
There are odd looking, glowing containers suspended above the closest walkway they can see from here. The other one, also visible thanks to the power of no walls, seems to have had better days; it starts at the platform and ends a good distance before other side. Hm. ]
[truly hate asking, but yeah, can he identify the smell if he focuses? there are crates, so he'll stop to take a look and see if he can push them around, look around them, or if they open.]

The crates are too heavy to move, and sealed shut. Maybe if he had something to pry them open? There's a faded logo on all of them, and some are labelled with a warning sign for hazards.
I'll give Alex this and say she's walked enough to get a room. The door is labeled with a 1, but it looks like unlike the flashing red lights here, the ones in there are completely shut off, so it's hard to make anything out. It looks like there are more people sized experimental tubes in there, though. The door should be automatic, but does not budge even if she attempts to pry it open. Hmm. ]

[ The logo seems to be some sort of diamond shape. There was writing on it, but it's illegible now. The test tubes inside the door don't look opened or damaged in any way. Sora and Alex can either try their luck with door number 2, or go to the suspended walkway. There is no railing to get them to the contraption. That sounds like some kind of workplace violation, but probably so is your workers getting murdered, so eh.
They could also go back the way they came, of course. The door there is still open. The sweetly, cloying smell follows them now, slowly filling the air. ]

[ Sora can absolutely go back to press more buttons! Unfortunately, no matter how many or which combination he tries, the ventilation system does not power back on. At this point, both Sora and Alex might start to feel a little like their heads are full of cotton... but I'm sure it's fine.
The second door, much like the first, won't open currently. But the emergency light seems to work in this one. There's an operating table in the middle with restraints on each end, surgical tools prepped next to it, and a monitor in the back. It's hard to tell through the window, but it looks like the operating table is dirty with ... something.
