[ though they seem a little awkward as they grab the back of kano's shirt. no lifting just yet--looks like they're waiting to make sure this is really okay...? ]

[ ...Kano leans to the side and pokes Goat's cheek, right under the right eye. ]

Man, you're just like number nine, huh? I'm asking you, aren't I?

[ they don't especially react to the poke, though they look confused. ]

I don't know what you mean by that... but all right.

[ and then, with that one hand, they lift kano off the ground without any visible effort. ]

[suddenlybees]

Number nine. What's his name...? Ko— uwahh!

[ No effort, and no warning either, as Kano yelps and goes still in Goat's grasp. ]

Konoha? Awakening? Mister Combat Specialist??

[retellers]

I do not know the name.

[ and then still without warning, they run up the wall again, holding onto kano. remember that you asked for this! ]

[suddenlybees]

Yeah, but you—-

[ oof, he cannot make conversation while being hoisted up a wall, and despite not wanting to be carried and literally asking for this, he ends up clinging to Goat's arm for dear life anyways until they reach the roof, and a little after too until the nausea passes. ]

[ they kind of just

drop kano onto the roof. it's probably not as gentle as it could've been, sorry kano. unless kano was clinging to their arm too hard, anyway. ]

[suddenlybees]

[ He sure was death gripping it all the way up, so that after Goat lets go there's a moment where he's still clinging and then he lets himself plop down onto the ground the rest of the way. ]

Ugh... No way, no way. That guy got you too, huh? You're gonna tell me that, like all those other masked guys, you don't remember anything, right?

[suddenlybees]

Huh. Yeah. I'm, like, nobody worth remembering, but you said something like that to me before too.

[ He picks himself off the floor and dusts off his backside, trying to peer past Goat's mask. ]

Aren't you just Konoha? You, like, came over and had dinner and slept on the couch and everything?

[ there is nothing to peer at, kano!! ]

Kano's going to risk broken arms reaching up and trying to grab for Goat's mask. A rooftop is a great place to do this. ]

[ This roof is limited space, he will trot after Goat everywhere they go. ]

Aw, come on, it's just me! Buddy? Pal? Are you embarrassed? 'cause of your eyes?

[suddenlybees]

[ He's going to follow Goat around like a duckling, trying to make a swipe whenever he can. ]

What color are your eyes? You ever take off your mask to see?

[ the thing about them constantly stepping back is that they're not paying attention to where they're backing up to

which is to say that they accidentally step off the edge of the rooftop. off the roof they fall! ]

[suddenlybees]

[ NO!!!!!!!!!!! This isn't how it was supposed to be!!! This is so stupid— the way Kano's hand reaches out before he can stop himself, the way he manages to grab Goat's wrist but his feet have already left the rooftop and he's also falling, very acutely aware that there is nothing he can do to save Goat in the first place, and now he's just doomed himself too. Stupid stupid stupid. ]

[ KANO, WHY DID YOU DO THIS.

the good news is that no one is breaking their neck today! though that might be bad news for you, because you're a menace. but once kano grabs goat's wrist, they manage to press their hand against the wall of the planetarium as they fall, and then--

they're both on the ground. obviously. but it won't have felt like they landed; rather, to kano, it would seem more like they just teleported there. ]

[ There's that wave of nausea again. There's no fear, but nausea from the motion of it all, the falling and the stopping and the disconcerting nothing in between.

Kano does not let go of Goat's wrist. ]
