...so, I guess my first question is, what fruit do you like best?

Uh... [ they hesitate as they look over the fruit ] Apple, I guess?

[ it's the sound of someone who really has no preference having to make a choice, it sounds like. ]

I had apples for breakfast the other day - they were pretty tasty. The produce here isn't bad.

The gifts aren't necessary unless you want to talk to someone who isn't your Leader. I have to show up for you no matter what. The others can ignore you if they want.

[ but with all that they didn't disagree fruit was a bad gift. ]

That seems a little unfair, though. You don't have any choice but to come talk to me, so you might as well get something nice when you show up.

So what sorts of things do you like?

You guys can't get anything here. It's more unfair to make you give us offerings for no reason.

[ but... fine, they'll answer. ]

I like things that are useful. For combat or otherwise. [ ... ] And alcohol.

[ since the latter will be easier to get. ]

You said combat... what sort of weapons are you trained to use?

[ hmm. they look at their hand and make a fist, flexing it ]

Swords. Not sure about anything else.

It looks like my sword got left behind when the Realm brought me here, but if we're able to find weapons at some point, would you want to spar?

[it'll be good to keep up with her practice!!]

We're not allowed to harm you guys. Don't know if sparring counts.

I guess... Still need to find a weapon first. Can't provide you guys with those.

Maybe we can make wooden swords for practice from the trees. I'm not very good at carving, though.

If it's like that, might as well just grab sticks. It's about the form, not the weight.

[ it's not a no, but they do sound a little judgmental. ]

I've fought through worse injuries than these before. I don't want to get out of practice!

You won't get out of practice if you rest a few days. That's not how that works. [ :/ ] If you want to survive in battle, you have to know when to retreat to heal. Can't brute force every fight.

...well, maybe. But I'd still feel a little better if I got to practice some.

anyway, time to make a beeline for the forest. yona wastes absolutely no time in finding a branch that is both low enough for her to grab onto and thin enough for her to snap, and once she gets a good grip on it, she spins around and holds it like it's a sword.

her stance is actually pretty good! but she had a really good teacher, so that's not surprising.]
