It's probably meant as a method of keeping the peace. Participants aren't supposed to fight each other. But it doesn't account for training or potential future threats. We're able to protect you if it comes to that, but it'd be better if you could do more than hide if something went wrong.

A lot of us seem pretty resourceful, so I'm sure we'll figure out some way to help if something does happen, but it'd be good to have properly-forged weapons, too. Just in case.
