[Almost as soon as he is down, he is fluidly rolling back into a crouch, cautious.

He scans the dark, smiling weakly at the words.]

I guess we didn't play their little games.

[He stands and moves around the chandelier toward the stairs, waiting on Shiro.]

Looks like we're going up. Let's be more careful this time.

[lionson]

[Those ghostly drawings tho. Shiro can't help but smile at them.]

If its a kid, we'll have to play. Just keep an eye out for more traps, even kid ghosts can be dangerous.

[Time to go up the stairs! And he's actually looking up this time.]

[retellers]

[ the scribbled arrows continue as they walk up the stairs-- and this time, they also helpfully denote a circle in the carpet in the middle of the stairs, for some reason? It's near the broken banister. They can choose to walk on it or walk around, though the arrows seem to indicate walking around it.

There's more scribbled drawings on the ceiling. A written oops next to where the chandelier used to hang, and what looks like a stick figure of a child with their mother.

Once they get to the second floor, there are four doors, two on each side of the floor. Their apparition has helpfully labeled them;

"BED"
"PLAY"
"BATH"
"???" ]

Understood.

[He's careful going up the stairs; careful not only about the surroundings, but for Shiro, too. Unfortunately, I play a smart character, so he will not step in the circle. Sad.

He does look a little hm about it, though.

Being at the top doesn't help the hm because of the labeled doors, or the chandelier. DON'T JUST "OOPS"?]

Well, I guess there is still a chance to play, Mister Fujimoto. "Bed, play, bath"... Do you want to try all of them together, or split them, and then take the "question" one together?

[lionson]

We should probably stick together now. And let's go play, bath, then bed. Maybe we just gotta get the kid ready for bed.

[They can check out ??? Later.]

[retellers]

[ They head to the room labelled play ... If they're sticking close to one another, once they are both in, the door slams shut behind them. It can also slam shut behind only one if someone dawdled.

The room is dark, not even lit up by the entity's drawing. What do. ]

[papasha]

[NO, WE ARE NOT BEING (more) DUMB. They are together. But the door slamming shut on them is concerning.

AND SO IS THE DARK.]

I'm still here. You go right, I'll go left. Let's see if we can find some light without tripping over any toys. Be careful.

[He will put his hand on the wall to the left to feel around as he moves. Is this house too old for light switches?! Are there candles?! Please, a flashlight.]

[lionson]

Don't worry, I'm good to go.

[He is absolutely using the fire poker like a blind man's walking stick. Hopefully he doesn't stab anyone with it.

He goes right, sticking to the wall and looking for light switches. As he goes, he's going to talk to whatever is messing with them:]

C'mon kid, you wanna play, right? We can't play a game if we can't see.

[retellers]

[ Between both of them, Blanca wins the search for a light switch! The globe lighting up the room is old, but it still seems to work. Of course, he doesn't manage to turn it on before Shiro stabs what turns out to be a soft rabbit plush, but these are the risks we take.

It's a library! There are shelves of books of all kinds lining the wall, and in the right near the entrance is a box full of children's toys. The poor rabbit did not make it into the box.

Nothing answers their call. ]

[papasha]

[Thank God for light. But not for a library play room.]

I would have liked to have a library, but not like this.

[He exchanges a look with Shiro about their situation currently, and then comes slowly away from the wall.]

"Play," hm? Should we check the toys then?

[He'll go over with Shiro if the man comes, so they can dig through the toybox, but he glances at the shelves as he passes because he's a nerd. Anything interesting?]

[lionson]

Probably. Ghost-kid likely plays in here.

[Whoops. He'll pull the bunny off of the poker and gently set it down near the box of toys. Good as new, right?

And while Blanca digs through it, Shiro will glance around the library at the shelves. Anything sticking out as odd or out of place?]

[retellers]

[ Even though he's a huge nerd, none of the book titles will look familiar to Blanca at first glance. The toys, meanwhile, are old-fashioned, dusty and just plain old. There's a jack in the box, a wooden duck with wheels, a little toy car, and a few dolls and plush toys. Luckily, none of them look like they are possessed. Probably.

The books seem to be arranged by color instead of title. An odd choice, but it makes it obvious to see there's a purple book in a green row, and a blue book in the purple row. There's no blue book to be seen right now, nor a green row. ]

[papasha]

[i don't trust the jack in the box not to be hisoka

Blanca will take each of them out of the box, turning them around and over to inspect them, and then he'll place them on the floor near the rabbit.

Oh, and check to make sure nothing is left on the inside of the box. God, he's going to have to turn the jack in the box, isn't he?

He's just going to turn the handle on the jack and the box until it pops...]

[lionson]

[Let the clown be free.

What an odd book arrangement choice though. After checking with the mods for the book configuration Shiro is going to go pull out that purple book and the blue book. He'll look them both over to see what they are and if there's any clue on them. Please don't let the bookshelf be trapped because he did not check before trying to yank those books off the shelf.]

[retellers]

[ There's nothing else in the box when Blanca empties it of toys, and most of them seem normal. Seem, because a few of those dolls are missing their eyes, but that's normal. Despite its age, the jack in the box sounds perfectly fine... but when it pops open, instead of a clown, it's a piece of paper! This one reads "(2) 14, right"

The bookshelf isn't trapped! Nothing happens when he removes both books. The covers have long since faded away, but there's nothing interesting in or on these books. ]

[papasha]

[Oh, a note. He will take that, too.]

(3) left, 23; and (2) 14, right...?

[He glances up at Shiro, looking between the other man and the books.]

Do you have it?

[lionson]

I think I do, yeah.

[Purple book is getting put in purple row.]

So you've got two notes right now? Do either of them make any sense?

[retellers]

[ The shelf that held the purple row starts to move! It reveals... another shelf. This one has a blue row with a green book in it. Please let me believe I remember my colors right.

The notes, for the record, don't have anything else on them. ]

[papasha]

[Oh!

Slowly, he stands to watch the shelf move and another appear.]

Unfortunately, not right this moment. Let's see if we find anymore. Maybe in the other rooms. And let's hope we didn't miss any for when we need them.

[He nods at Shiro and the shelf. Continue, sir!]

[lionson]

I'm sure we can figure this out once we find the rest of the notes.

[Green book taken off, blue book put in. And green book can go in green row too.]

[retellers]

[ Both bookshelves also move! Yay, color coordination. They reveal... a door. It's old and made of metal, with slightly rusted hinges. There's a keyhole above the door handle. ]

[papasha]

[He folds and puts the papers in his pocket while Shiro works the last bookshelves. And then he pauses.]

A key...?

[WELL, back down to look through the toys. Time to gently finger the bunny Shiro accidentally stabbed earlier.]

[lionson]

[Please don't say 'gently finger the bunny' ever again.

Shiro is going to look at the other toys and see if there's anything key-related among them.]

The key might be in another room too.

[retellers]

[ i have nothing to say that wasn't covered in "please don't say 'gently finger the bunny' ever again". there's no key in the toys! ]

[papasha]

[Hm.]

Possibly.

[But it's now time to go try the door they came in to see if it'll even open?]
