Eating a whole meal in the Planetarium is a little weird, and I figure you guys are a little sick of stars.

Well. I did cook it. You can’t eat the patty raw.

[ the sudden teleportation nets a slightly startled squeak from alex and she doesn’t move for a second when they’re in the kitchen, gathering her bearings. ]

Oh! It IS like a super sandwich.

Right. [ ... ] Now I'm wondering if it's weird I've never had a burger but I've had a sandwich. Ugh.

I don't think so? One's a bit easier to make than the other -- technically.

I guess so. It's just weird, to know all these things about my life but not really know, you know?

So... knowing that burgers are a thing, and what they are, but not knowing what they taste like? Is that what you mean?

Well, I didn't know what burgers were or that they were a thing, but I knew sandwiches. Is it that I never heard of them but they exist at home, or that they don't exist and this is entirely new?

I don't know. But you definitely knew what sandwiches were?

What about other foods...? Do you know what pancakes are? ... Pizza?

Pancakes yes, pizza no.

Oh. I'll have to try making one of those next. [ how to describe it... ] Think of something the shape of a pancake, but the base is more doughy. And you top it with... well. Whatever you want, with cheese and a base of tomato sauce.

[ they look... so confused because they're thinking of a fat pancake like that ]

It is, I promise. What sorts of toppings do you like? Um... as an example of the sort of stuff you can have on them, you get some pizzas with onions, chicken and barbeque sauce on top.

That sort of thing.

[ that sounds awful to their pancake thoughts and they are just. making a face ]

Maybe we just ... try the basic combo first?

[ she just smiles, looking genuinely amused. ]

Simple is often the best. They're pretty fun to make actually...

I don't think I've ever cooked before? But I'm willing to try!

I can let you know when I'm making it. Topping a pizza's easy, and if you see anything else you like you can add it before I cook it.
