[ They'll notice that it's... a perfectly maintained garden. There's a few nobles around, walking around and chatting, as a few gardeners do some landscaping. They look at the two when they enter, but make no move to approach them. ]
[ Or maybe it's just adrenaline, who knows. Either way, Alphinaud is spotting the people; he would tell them to run, but this is some bullshit pretend place that's already trying to kill them anyway, so. He just grits his teeth again, and announces as loud as he can muster: ]
—You there! Have you caught any sign of the king? You must let us know, if so!
[ she nods a bit at that, and follows after him, watching to make sure he's doing okay. she squints, trying to see if there's anything out of place here as alphinaud questions the gardeners.
it's really funny that both of them are just covered in blood asking questions nonchalantly. ]
[ Sometimes you're bloody while there are very distinct dinosaur roars happening in the background. Luckily, this place already has rumors of being weird, so they're clearly trying to ignore it. ]
Oh, we believe they're somewhere in the garden. But... oh dear.
[ Hey? Do you remember? The stabby girl? Who now has a sizable chunk ripped out of her torso, but is still somehow walking just fine.
She's here, and she's going to very gently try to stab Alphinaud from behind while he's talking. ]
We were having a conversation!
[ Lup's dinosaur runs in seconds later, roaring. ]
What - you again - could you stop stalking me, you creep?
[ lup grabs for alphinaud to try and stop him from falling, and like, look, if she can she's going to scoop him up and just fucking take off into the garden, goodbye. how is she doing this? adrenaline.
Well, off they to of them go into the garden while that chaos is happening behind them. As they run or limp quickly, they will notice the symbols drawn in white all over the grounds. Or at least, Lup might, I don't know how much of anything Alphinaud is noticing at the moment? ]
anyway she's kind of flagging here, but she refuses to leave him to bleed, so. she limps along with him half bridal, half fireman carried in her arms. ]
I've got you. We're going, hold on. [ she murmurs to him, panting.
what do the symbols look like? do they have any sort of pattern that she can follow? ]
[ If Alphinaud wasn't dying, he would probably be able to recognize them as symbols from the many papers he got to look at. Instead, Lup will just be able to tell that they're just some weird symbols.
As they move, the scenery suddenly flashes again--this time they're on a rooftop of some building, before it turns back to the garden. Further ahead, the plants start to become less maintained and cared for. ]
[ He's... trying to hang on, at least, and attempting to get his focus back. She's in no condition to carry him, he knows, but won't be fighting it. They need to press on, somehow. ]
I'm—sorry, I... I had thought— [ gods, fuck, ow ] –that Clementine would be near...
[ she's used to Injuries, she guesses, probably more than he is. she can soldier on for a while. this is just karma for making blanca and wolf carry her everywhere? yeah. ]
Do you recognize these symbols? [ she asks, following the path of less cared for plants. she's keeping an eye out for anything out of place, too - the rooftop thing freaks her out for just a second, but she doesn't have time to stop. ]
