Wouldn't be surprised if they already are. People will always find a way to fight each other. These circumstances aren't any different. [ it's their turn to shrug ] Probably even more likely than usual, after this weekend.
It was, on some level, an inevitability. Had it not happened so soon, 'twould be a matter of time before it eventually did, and before others followed suit... though I suppose we shall see whether they manage to restrain themselves.

Yeah. Truth is, people are selfish. They'll only react when things affect them personally. For good, or for bad. The more they lose, the more they'll lose sight of what's in front of them and focus only on what they've lost.
I have often found that to be the case, yes. Should this become an established pattern, their focus will be drawn to both those losses and to preventing further ones, forgetting the greater purpose served here and that individual lives should not be prioritized over it-- their energies will be diverted, and they may well put the entire endeavor at risk.

But if it proves to be a pattern, then it may be one we simply have to work with. Such things are difficult for them to break.

I would prefer not to be herded into such an investigation again, but it is as you said. Once begun, such things are difficult to stop-- if nothing else, tensions will run higher for wondering if others will act, and enough people being on edge will lead to further trouble.
