Our intended greeting was further delayed by Goat freezing over the foyer, which not only had to thaw out but caused Rabbit to slip and fall. Fortunately, she has since recovered and doesn't appear to be suffering a concussion.
Wolf, Rabbit, and I have now given initial explanations to the participants. All things considered, it went as well as it could have (aside from the others' bizarre decision to douse us in confetti and glitter). There was a surprising lack of violence.
Though I don't like having to obfuscate the truth from them, breaking the rules will apparently deprive us of the power to ultimately send them home, so honesty would be dire in this case. In any case, they are doubtful, but that might be for the better. I cannot deny that I would prefer to have their trust; however, to have it without doing anything to deserve it could be dangerous.
Personally, I struggle to believe some of the words that come out of my mouth, myself. It seems that some of the other Leaders can take this in stride, so it might say something about my previous life that all of this is incredulous to me. It's beyond my comprehension why I was chosen to handle this, in that case.
As an aside: we really should have prepared better accommodations for Archer. None of us were expecting the participants to be anything but humanoid, it seems.
