GRAVEYARD

GRAVEYARD

Well, that sucked.

But no matter what your death was like—whether it was something peaceful or traumatic, you'll find yourself waking in a completely white room on the floor. Small and empty, there isn't anything else there besides an open door to walk through. But before you do that, you'll probably notice that whatever injuries you may have had, including whatever may have been the death blow, are now gone. That's exciting.

Stepping out of the room, it seems that you're in a large... house? with three different floors. Everything from floor, ceiling to furniture is completely white, except for the drawings that are plastered to the walls in each room. These are all colorful, drawn in colored pencils and crayon, and resemble a child's drawing. The other notable thing are the windows. While they're present all around the building, looking out of them only shows TV static. Besides that, everything is furnished with the absolute bare minimum of each room.

The first floor is all typical common areas one would find in a house. There's a kitchen, living room area, laundry room, dining room, and a main hallway where the stairs are. There are also helpful drawings in these rooms that show the rooms much more lavishly decorated than they actually are. There's a door that appears to be the way to exit the building, but it leads you to somewhere that's not the front lawn.

The second floor consists of nothing but twenty bedrooms. Each room has one queen sized bed, an empty dresser, and an attached bathroom with only a sink, toilet, and shower. Like the first floor, each bedroom has drawn pictures that show it looking much more lavish than it actually does. Thanks for nothing, artist!

The third floor only has two rooms. One appears to be a home office with nothing but a desk and two chairs, one behind it and one in front of it. On the desk are some blank pieces of paper along with crayons, as well as a written note next to them that says PLEASE DRAW THE PREFERRED ANIMAL :). It looks like this is how you ask for a meeting with a Leader.

The other room is much larger, and it's completely empty save for the many drawings lining its walls— in fact, the walls are covered in them, much more than in any other room. On closer inspection, though, it seems like these aren't actually drawings? The papers seem to be showing scenes from the living area. Everything from inside the hotel to the areas beyond the bridge are visible here. However, when curfew hits on Thursday nights, they revert to being normal drawings! Except for the fact that they're all drawings of stick figures being murdered in various ways.

Well. At least there's plenty of things to draw with, if you get bored.

As of Week 3, each person has the ability to send messages on their PHS unlocked.

[Sumire lasts a little longer than Yona this time, but. Uh.

With her goggles smeared with blood and her mouthpiece covered in algae, it doesn't take too long before water fills her lungs and she drowns.

Again.

They're going down, they're yelling timber...]

[Yona, unfortunately, is deadweight. She's also still holding onto Sumire's hand, which means that they're not going to make it very far up before Sumire drowns.

She's.

She's really starting to hate swimming?

Anyway, she tries, when she wakes up again not long after Sumire dies - but some of the kelp has wound itself around her ankles, which is now making swimming a little difficult.

She drowns again.]

[How many times can they drown? A lot, actually.

Yona's dead hand slips out of Sumire's grasp for a brief instance. This, in turn, causes her to freak out, push her goggles up and swim after her. She manages to snag her by the arm just in time to— you guessed it! Drown again.

Oops.]

[Well, you know what the fun part about just floating aimlessly in the deep blue see is?

Sometimes you don't know which way is up and which is down.

So when Yona revives in a panic, she's not actually sure which way to be swimming. She manages to get her feet semi-free of the kelp, and kicks to propel the two of them...

...uh, down. Oops.

By the time she realizes it and tries to correct it, she's drowning as she turns her head up toward the surface.]

[Everything is fine.

Sumire sucks in a breath when she revives — which, of course, is a total mistake. Her lungs fill with water immediately as she struggles to keep Yona close to her, slinging one arm around her midriff to keep her from slipping even further down. Unfortunately, it does not take long for her to die.

Again.

Somewhere in the distance, the whale idly comments: HM.]

[personal profile] dawnblushed 2020-11-11 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yona revives specifically to spite this judgmental whale.

Okay. Sumire's arm is around her midriff, which makes it easier for her to find her arm and pull her along. This time, she actually gets going for the surface in the right direction! She doesn't even take in a lungful of water right away!

However they are definitely not close enough to the surface for her to actually get there before she drowns again. At least this time she's like, halfway there when she starts to sink!]

[Spite is so valid.

At this point, Sumire is more frustrated than she is traumatized. She clamps her mouth firmly shut upon reviving to avoid a repeat of her previous double death, and immediately starts to propel herself up. Of course, it's easier said than done when one of her arms is occupied with Yona's corpse. This time, they're only a few feet away from the surface when Sumire's lungs seize up and she takes a big gulp of water. Then she's fading, fading — gone.

The whale continues to be useless.]

[personal profile] dawnblushed 2020-11-12 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
[Would it kill this whale to give them a boost or something?

Anyway.

They're sinking! At least they're somewhat close to the surface when Yona comes to. Close enough that it's definitely light enough for her to know which way to go! Sweet! Up to the surface they go. Yona coughs violently, trying to clear her lungs.

—only for them to get caught in a rip current.]
siblingless: (054)

[personal profile] siblingless 2020-11-12 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
[The whale cannot hear your judgmental meta text. The whale is very lazy and may be a pillow whale. Damn.

Bad news: The rip current tears them apart. Both girls go hurtling in different directions.

Good news: Though they're heading in different directions, the current still pulls them towards the shore. They will wash up several yards away from each other, covered in kelp, algae, and a little bit of mouth slime. As this happens, the whale hums and (in a booming whale voice way) whispers:

YAY...]
dawnblushed: (045)

[personal profile] dawnblushed 2020-11-12 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
[Yona never wants to go swimming again.

Anyway. She panics when the current breaks them apart from each other, and she foolishly tries to swim against the current to catch up to Sumi - only to end up tossed about and then wash up on the shore. Wow. God.

She spits out a little bit of mouth slime, some saltwater, and a piece of kelp, then sits up.]

Yoshizawa...?

[...uh. Hm. That looks bad. She's gonna drag herself over there to see if Sumire is breathing.]
siblingless: (086)

[personal profile] siblingless 2020-11-12 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
[Sumire is laying on her back, hair fanned out around her while blood sluggishly dribbles down the side of her head from her eye injury. The water on her face is tinged with red. A lone seagull lands on her chest, stares at her, and bonks her on the forehead with its beak.

She does not move.

Hm.]
dawnblushed: (071)

[personal profile] dawnblushed 2020-11-12 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
[Yona frowns at the seagull and reaches over to wave her hands at it to shoo it away.]

Hey! Stop that!

[SHE NEEDS TO CHECK IF SHE'S BREATHING.]
siblingless: (080)

[personal profile] siblingless 2020-11-12 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
[The seagull tries to bonk Yona on the face, too.

This seagull is fearless. It does not care for her shooing hands.

Sumire still does not move.]
dawnblushed: (066)

[personal profile] dawnblushed 2020-11-12 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
[Yona scowls, grabs the seagull, and yeets it away.

And then leans down to put her ear near Sumire's lips to see if it sounds like she's breathing.]
siblingless: (012)

[personal profile] siblingless 2020-11-12 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
[The seagull CAW CAWS as it's yeeted away. It sounds a little like a FUCK YOU.

Sumire is not breathing. Terrible.]
dawnblushed: (040)

[personal profile] dawnblushed 2020-11-12 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh. Bad.

Well.

Yona read a book with a CPR kiss as a plot point when she was alive, so. First time for everything! She eases Sumire's lips open, then puts her hands over her chest and presses down once or twice. (She doesn't know how many compressions she's supposed to do. She's not CPR certified, she just read a romance novel.)

Then she leans down to put her lips over hers to help her breathe!]
siblingless: (071)

[personal profile] siblingless 2020-11-12 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
[Well.

Something gives way and goes crunch in the middle of those few compressions, but that's fine. Yona leans down to press her lips over Sumire's as the ocean laps at their feet. The sun shines down upon them. It is a very picturesque moment. It would perhaps not look out of place between the romance novel Yona read, if that romance novel happened to deal with redhaired girls who stumble across drowned fellows.

And then Sumire ruins this moment by coughing up water when Yona starts to breathe air into her.

Awful.]
dawnblushed: (060)

[personal profile] dawnblushed 2020-11-12 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[Gross.

Yona jerks back, because a mouthful of gross, coughed-up seawater is not what she wanted. But at least the coughing means Sumire isn't dead! Corpses can't cough, after all.

Eugh.]

Are... are you okay?
siblingless: (006)

[personal profile] siblingless 2020-11-13 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
[Coughing up some bits of kelp and sand, too. Ew.]

I— [WHEEZE.] I'm okay. W-What happened?
dawnblushed: (029)

[personal profile] dawnblushed 2020-11-13 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
...I think the whale spit us up.
siblingless: (006)

[personal profile] siblingless 2020-11-15 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[Making a bit of a face as she pushes herself up into a sitting position, and suddenly becomes keenly aware of the whale slime. Oh, no.]

... I remember. [Gross.] Did we— Did we drown?

[Several times??]
dawnblushed: (022)

[personal profile] dawnblushed 2020-11-15 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[she nods]

...we still have to get that thing out of its throat. But...

[she doesn't want to drown again??]
siblingless: (012)

[personal profile] siblingless 2020-11-16 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[...

closes her eyes, briefly.]

Could we ask him to keep his mouth open this time?
dawnblushed: (021)

[personal profile] dawnblushed 2020-11-17 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe, but I don't speak whale, so I'm not sure how to ask.

... Are our PHS waterproof?

[did they have their phs with them while drowning... mystery.]
