Horse dad........... Just kidding, she didn't see him as a father figure even a little bit. LOL
Well. She saw him as a father to someone else? And that was one of their biggest things was that - he knew about AJ! She didn't necessarily keep AJ a secret, though she may have chosen moments to not mention him to certain people, especially early on... But there were still plenty of people who never found out about AJ. So it was meaningful to Clem that Chiron knew! And that he respected her as a mom! Because Clementine is AJ's mom and whenever people act like she's his big sister she just dies a little bit inside!
And I mentioned this for Alex's tl;cr but - Clem has. Difficult feelings about adults? She doesn't want to be babied, but also wants adult approval. So him seeming to recognize her as AJ's mom felt nice and made her approval of him go super up. I think Clem was more conscious of Chiron being an adult vs her being a child compared to, like, Alex? But I also think she just kind of went. "Well, he's a centaur or whatever, so I do not even take offence really." CLEM NEVER LEARNED LIKE ANYTHING ABOUT CHIRON SO HE WAS JUST. Mythical creature! Okay!!!!
But he was nice and she enjoyed talking to him. He seemed to her like he had a weird mix of being honest and closed off at the same time. Like he would tell his honest thoughts, but maybe not get into the details or explanations that much. Was how she felt? And she wasn't really sure how to bridge that gap, but she did like him very much!
She got a clue from Rabbit that a teammate was "someone very tall" so she was like. THE HORSE??????? And then they had that convo where she like. sused out that he was team rabbit... And then she lied and said she wasn't. At that point Clementine was genuinely not planning to really tell people her team, even if she found teammates. She wasn't that interested in team meetings because she has Group Anxiety. She was only trying to find people to figure things out because of her detective role and MY SPREADSHEET etc.
But then. She told Zuko her role because he's. Fine. And then he introduced her to Hilda who already knew so many Rabbits and. Clem is a weak bitch and a liar so she was immediately like WOW FRIENDS, and told Hilda about Chiron. I still really love the first Rabbit meeting she went to where she's just like. Looks away fastly from Chiron because she lied.
But he wasn't even mad... And, yeah. Having Team Rabbit Meetings made it very clear how fucking fake Clementine is about her NO GROUPS posturing. Because she was immediately ride or die for these fuckers, regardless of how close they actually were. ESPECIALLY BECAUSE she came to the group and just started bossing them around without explanation. And she doesn't know nothing about nothing, but she could TELL from Chiron's reaction that he was not thrilled about "wveryone vote for Jeanne, no questions no answers." But he... Did it anyway! He trusted her! They all trusted her!! Rabbits!!!!! HER GROUP!!!!!!!!!!!!! And then Jeanne fucking made the whole scheme pointless by making herself a very very clear target, so Clem understands that it's not like they had to do as much scheming as they'd thought they might... But she still saw that willingness? And so even though it wasn't really by her hand so much because of Jeanne being Jeanne, she DID still feel a lot of pride over Jeanne being protected successfully - largely because of how Chiron had responded to the idea of voting for her.
And then. She had to take volunteers. And she'd seen him and how people reacted to him trying to take the hit for Emet in a previous trial so she was just. WOW HATE THIS A LOT, but also they needed sacrifices and Rabbits team really was the best place to get them from. She felt like she was selling out her group!! But the Roles were also her group? And pessimistic tough-talk aside, she DOES always want the best possible outcome for all parties, and that's. what this would be for?
She initially wanted her team to have Ochako killed and then frame Chiron with a CYOA item that can turn the wearer into an animal. But it was because she knew that two other people had that item and would be able to really fucking easily trace it back to her, and felt confident they'd do that. So she wanted to scapegoat herself to protect Chiron. But that got vetoed, no one would let her. And then like I've said in chat I literally didn't think of it until later but I fucking WISH I'd put in a counter proposal to have Clem die instead of Chiron or Ochako because she was just so fucking devastated at FINDING HER GROUP and they TRUSTED HER and then she had to let two of them die.
Then she was just so focused on continuing to try and get everything to work out how they wanted that she wasn't able to linger on his death. She was just very aggressively not thinking about it because she had STUFF TO DO. But now he's back!!! And has? People legs?
