[... A thoughtful hum; he tries not to focus too much on hearing Yona's name for now]
Could it be because we have lost so many memories already? This is not verified -- [Glancing at their leader, and remember what the other NPCs said about being careful with theorizing] -- but I would not be surprised if we are in such fragile states that splintering is going to become a more common occurrence.
Yeah, maybe that's it... If Hikaru's case was really something else—that's the only thing that still worries me. [ ... ] In case it's a good thing we're getting to the end of this.
[ theoretically. ]
—Bunny, have you guys seen any other sign of that monster? Any change in the Realm, or luck with reading its memories—?
I think the reading thing may be a bust... it seems like the only way to get the memories is how we've been getting them so far. [ murder,, ] And it doesn't seem like it spotted us yet.
... I'm still not sure about some of the theories. I know some people think that maybe the problem is getting worse because of how chaotic it was with him, but I am pretty sure this was the first splintering case where the victim had powers. You can't really compare it to other cases because of that, since we don't know what would have happened with past ones if they also had abilities.
Yeah... I think people will figure that out when they get their rewards this week.
[ they couldn't bring up power regains during the trial without outing their team, but it should be fairly clear once people get their own ones back. ]
If he was just splintering as normal, we should be able to figure out which team did it by having everyone ask their leaders, right...? The PHSs didn't blink again.
If it was a normal one, then there's no reason for the Leader to keep it a secret from their team. [ she looks over at wherever ocahko is. ] And even if it's the same case as Claude, where it was a secondary one, whichever Leader noticed the primary one should also be able to confirm that. I was able to tell that Claude was a secondary case when it started happening to him.
If it was a secondary one, I think that only Leaders would be able to tell the difference between it and the primary splinter. So um, if someone saw him before he went to the blacksmith and noticed he was acting strangely, they... could have mistaken him for a primary one...
Possibly. That, or if anyone had run into him right before he walked into the blacksmith, since from what everyone said it sounds like it was a fairly narrow window?
[ but she nods. ]
I'm sure people will be asking today about it, so hopefully there will be some sort of answer by tomorrow.
[ she scrubs her face for a moment, letting out a deep breath. ]
Okay... yeah. I hope that wasn't the case, but—yes.
[ if mob didn't need to die—this is very upsetting. ]
I'll let you know if I hear anything. Other stuff, um... do you know anything about the roles, Bunny? I don't even know if you can talk about it, but there was one I was trying to track down.
... you're all my team, and I'll support you all as much as I can.
[ it doesn't matter what her personal opinions are on it. no one here wants to do any of this. everyone is hurting. so, all she can do is push away those feelings and instead focus on helping. ]
Well... Riegan-san said he was splintering, too, when Cater did. When you guys described Shigeo-kun - it sounded a lot like what he experienced. It could have been the same thing.

Yona was splintering. But... I saw Mob, and I'm sure he was erratic and forgetting stuff on Thursday night too. And then he turns up dead.
[ that can't be a coincidence. ]
So that's two weird cases—in the first few weeks, I think there was just one. Meanwhile, Alyssa and Hikaru were odd too...
I'm not sure it means things are getting worse, but it's definitely weird.

Regardless, we are almost at the end.

Ugh. I was really hoping we were getting close...
[ she sighs. ]
And you haven't heard anything new about Mob's condition, have you?

[ it was kind of a strange one. hikaru might've been a one-off too, at this rate. ]
I guess that'd at least mean one of you got an extra memory. Not that it... makes things better, but it's something.

[ to eliminate that possibility. ]
But would that mean it was probably someone at the blacksmith that night, or maybe someone who had been awake already for a different kill?

But if something like that was a thing, it probably wouldn't be something we'd be allowed to openly talk about.

He said that was because the source of his splintering was removed.
[ she hugs her red panda a little tighter. this has been on ochako's mind since they said mob was splintering. ]
