Well, the sudden change of scenery is further proof for him to keep his guard up, and he's giving the rocky planet a thorough look-over for anything suspicious... which, frankly, includes the pile of weapons just sitting there out in the open.
But he has no issue with Ochako arming herself; it's why he'll stand back at attention, bow still ready to let an arrow fly at the slightly movement that isn't her.
He notes all of the weapons that are familiar to him, and doesn't touch them.]
No, I see nothing for now... but take heed of the weapons. It could be a trap.
I know, but I'd rather have something, since my quirk is gone... [ oops, there's the screen! ] M-Monsters?
[ THAT'S

[An ancient centaur and a hero-in-training. This is fiiiine, they're gonna do fiiiiine]
When Ochako and Chiron grab a weapon from the pile, they will both notice something: Ochako will regain her Quirk, while Chiron will regain uno of his powers. Yaaaay.
Enjoy your single moment of peace—because an ominous aura approaches... ]
[ the second she feels her quirk again, ochako breathes a quiet oh and scans the pile of weapons again. she's looking for something, but what isn't clear until she spots it and walks right up: a box of grenades. she'll clip as many on her belt as she can, let's say six, and nods in satisfaction.
this won't be like the sports festival. she can do better this time. ]
Archer-san... I think it was right. Something's coming.
Having his Clairvoyance returned to him is like seeing with a new set of eyes he'd forgotten he missed, and he blinks a few times in rapid succession with the world spread out to him anew.
He nocks his arrow again, with a new sense of readiness to it.]
Indeed.
Was a power returned to you as well?
[He hopes so. They're probably going to need whatever she has]
[ Something appears in the horizon, though it's not quite visible yet. With his newly regained Clairvoyance as Jan frantically rereads his wiki, Chiron might see that there are... two somethings, in particular.
Maybe they should get closer. Or maybe they shouldn't! Up to you. ]
My quirk is back. Zero gravity - I can make things float by touching it, and drop it whenever I'm ready.
[ and she's ready to make some rocks with these grenades, if they need it. she's not the far-seeing one, though, so getting closer or not is a decision for chiron. ]
[One of his front hooves bites into the ground the longer he stares, not quite making out the figures but at least knowing their numbers. He deliberates for a moment...
But sadly, wars aren't usually won by doing nothing at all.
So as much as he dislikes the idea of leading a child to battle, he's quick to remind himself that she is armed and prepared.]
I can see more clearly -- and there is something in the distance. Two somethings.
[Frowning]
Let us go. I'll keep my bow at the ready in case they attack us. But I want to see what they are, first.
[ As they approach... this is where things get a bit weird.
The monsters will become visible! They're bizarre beings with a mess of multi-jointed limbs, as well as various gaps in their body that seem to be a mixture of eyes, mouths, and dark holes.
To Chiron, it will look as if the monsters are still far away; to Ochako, however, it will look as if the monsters are only a short distance away, and almost where she and Chiron are.
Furthermore, if they try to stare at the monsters, it will... hurt their head. A lot. These monsters aren't in the third dimension, so it'll feel like they're trying to grasp beings that they're not meant to perceive. Their eyes may turn red and start bleeding, though that's only if they insist on looking at the monsters even when it clearly becomes a bad idea. Should they shut their eyes, they'll be fine.
Except for the part where their powers are gone. I'm sorry, you had your powers for 5-6 whole tags and I'm taking them away again. However, unlike how it usually is in the Realm, where they've completely disappeared, Ochako and Chiron can feel that their abilities are still there—they just can't seem to use them right now? Hm. ]
[ ochako tries to look at the monsters, but it's only for a moment before she winces and has to look away. that's bad? that's so bad. ]
I can't get a good look at them. What are those things?
[ her hand ball into fists. if she can't look at them, how is she supposed to get close enough to use a knife? and a gun wouldn't be a good idea, either, if she can't aim.
but there are rocks. not big ones - yet - but it's good enough, for now. so she presses her fingertips together, and kneels to touch the nearest one.
[He can deal with a headache, frankly, but bleeding eyes? Those are an archer's best asset and he can't afford to lose either of them.
Frowning deeply, he also looks away -- and then notes that his Clairvoyance is... muted again.
Damn it]
Neither is my eyesight. I can feel its presence, but I can't use it--
[And again, damn it. Because now they're in a worse position than before, with Ochako having gone back to being incredibly vulnerable. Chiron takes a step between her and the monsters, even though he can't quite get a good look at them and gauge just how far away they are now]
Worst-case scenario, I will need you to run.
[THERE WOULD NOT HAPPEN TO BE A "GET OUT OF MONSTER DEATH FREE" CARD LYING AROUND IF HE LOOKS, WOULD THERE]
[ Not that Ochako and Chiron are looking at the monsters, but they're moving closer! Though Ochako and Chiron can at least hear their movements, an alien-esque sort of whistle as they head towards Ochako and Chiron.
As they do, even if Ochako and Chiron aren't staring at them, they'll begin to feel an immense pressure. It won't necessarily push them to the ground, but they can feel it in their skin and bones, as an intense pain begins to ring through their bodies.
But then there's a grunt from his end, pain slamming down to the marrow of his bones, and Chiron nearly drops his bow from the shock of it until he grits his teeth and forces his body straight. The monsters are approaching -- and dangerous as it is, he is still going to twist and glance, shooting off an arrow in their direction. Even if it's not a direct hit, he'll settle for just injuring one with any luck.]
Very well.
[He just doesn't have time to argue.]
But we will both run if we cannot win. Get on my back when that moment comes.
[If he'll be able to run is... well. He only hopes that if his body isn't presented with any other choice, it'll do its job]
[ Something shifts, and—both will now be able to perceive that the two monsters are very near. Still hurts to look at them, though, so they might not want to do that. Chiron's arrow strikes true, hitting Monster #2 in... one of their many limbs. So how much damage that did is debatable, but hey, at least Chiron can rest assured his aim isn't terrible.
However, the monsters suddenly... pause? They stay like that for a few moments, but Ochako and Chiron might not want to let down their guard.
... Namely because after those few moments, things happen:
Monster #1 extends a limb towards Ochako. Maybe it was trying to grab her hand potentially holding any weapons or maybe not, it's hard to tell when said limb is Very Big compared to her overall size. What happens is that it instead wraps around her body, in an attempt to lift her into the air.
Meanwhile, Monster #2 makes a move to take Chiron's bow. ]
[ but they can still try! she'll try to dodge when she realizes something is coming for her, but of course that's hard to do when you're unable to properly follow your opponent's movements. she's lifted into the air with a loud protest.
hopefully not too high, though? because she's going to stab that limb as hard as she can with one of her knives. ]
So he's going to try and yank it right back if the monster gets a hold of it; and sadly for him, it's possible. Half of his attention is split the moment the first abomination gets ahold of Ochako, and furious, he will try to leap over to it, literally ready to stomp it down with his front hooves.]
[ Ochako successfully stabs the monster, though that doesn't seem to stop it, as it maintains its grip on her. In fact, the stab causes spikes to emerge from it, stabbing into what parts of her it has contact with, albeit non-fatally. So, a stab or two in the waist, maybe.
However, again, something shifts, and now, Ochako and Chiron can look at Monster #1 without pain. Monster #2 still kind of hurts to look at, though.
Monster #1 brings Ochako closer and closer to its body... in particular, towards one of the gaps in its body. Is that—oh dear. It looks like it's bringing Ochako towards one of its mouths. Omnom. Stab more, Ochako! Don't let yourself get vored.
Chiron will succeed in protecting his bow, but in response, before Chiron can reach Ochako, the end of Monster #2's limb opens wide into a fanged mouth like a horrific, deranged snake. Chiron is big, but so is this mouth-limb; thus, it tries to swallow him whole. ]
[ it has MOUTHS? PLURAL? god why didn't we go for the emotional anguish angle
of course she'll stab it more, once she realizes what it's doing!! if there's enough wiggle room, she's going to reach for a grenade, pull the pin, and toss it as hard as she can inside of its mouth. eat that!! ]
[The worst part is he's from ancient greece so guaranteed this is not the first time something has tried to eat him.
Regardless, this is a problem, and with the second monster right in front of him, he can't even get a good look at what's happening between Ochako and the first. So instead he tries to backstep as much as he can, grabbing at the spear still attached to his waist and pulling it free in the hopes he can just stab the creature directly in the mouth]
Glad that Ochako continues to wiggle even after getting gently stabbed. Keep doing your best! The grenade flies and flies... and into the mouth! It explodes, causing a shake throughout the monster's body, fire erupting from inside. Looks like it's been badly burned, so maybe it'll die?
... Except then. Ochako is close enough to see that it's... regenerating? Wow, this monster is a fucking cheater. On the bright side, having a grenade detonate is enough to distract it for a bit, as it lets go of Ochako.
It doesn't seem to appreciate having lost its grip on her, however! One of its gaps begins to glow, before it then fires a giant beam of energy at her. Its aim isn't quite accurate, as Ochako falls; the beam will scorch the upside of her arm. A burn for a burn! But at least it didn't hit her limb directly, or else it would've disintegrated.
With that said, she's still... falling... She's at least low enough that impact with the ground probably won't be fatal, though high enough that she may break or twist something...
Oh, and her Quirk returns. You can decide whether it's back in time to help her or after she falls, Ray.
As Chiron fights Monster #2, he'll notice that now, looking at it no longer causes any pain. His spear goes right through its mouth! How mean, it just wanted a snack, maybe.
While that limb is stuck, and possibly Chiron's spear in it while Chiron may have to struggle to pull it back out, another limb emerges, going around Chiron in an attempt to pierce through his back from behind.
Barely perceptible, the pressure Ochako and Chiron feel begins to subside.]
[ as much as i would love to let her fall, when you've had power over gravity since you were four years old, your first instinct is to, you know, defy it. she's immediately pressing her fingertips together, concentrating as hard as she can in spite of the burn, willing it to work.. and when it does, and she breathes a sigh of relief as she hovers just above the ground.
i don't know what happened to the knife, though, maybe it's still in the monster or maybe it'll fall and stab her through the leg after she catches herself. you're the mod, jan, you tell me.
but they aren't out of the woods yet, so she quickly rolls in the air and releases her quirk with a wince - without the shoes from her hero outfit to cushion the landing, that does still hurt her ankles - and runs to rejoin chiron. ]
Archer-san! They can regenerate!
[ does that make this unwinnable?! either way, she's not going to run until chiron tells her to, so she'll throw another grenade at Monster #1, maybe deliberately fall short of its mouth. more destruction means she'll have more ammo! ]
Chiron wisely decides that the spear has done its job in distracting the creature and lets it go, returning back to his weapon of choice instead -- and that split second decision to retreat a few paces and reorient himself is the only reason the second limb merely scratches at his flank instead of piercing him to the stomach.
What little blood this causes goes ignored; it's a minor wound. He's had much worse.]
I know; but we can perceive them now.
[Or he sincerely hopes Ochako can. But she's at least free of the monster, thank the gods for that, and there's another arrow ready at his bow. For now, he doesn't call for a retreat]
Is your power back in your possession? If so, use it.
[He, on the other hand, is going to shoot two arrows in rapid succession at what he hopes count as one of Monster #2 eyes.]
