yeah. xie lian has a smile and a bow for them, serene and polite as he always is, before offers them his little offering - an apple and the wildflowers. he doesn't seem particularly unhappy? ]
...Hello, dear Swan.
I...think you may already know why I'm here... but I would like to confirm something with you, if that's alright.
Were you the one that sensed Miss Alyssa's nova was splintering?
[ they take the offering, hiding it in the probably pockets of this cloak. or maybe the sleeves. before looking back at xie lian. they keep their chin up high and their shoulders straight ]
he ducks his head. there's a smile on his face, soft. ]
...I'm glad to hear that.
To be honest, I figured out that San Lang was the killer towards the end of the trial. I trust him entirely, and I knew he would not lie to me, but...I just wanted to make sure. I know the kind of person that he is - and I know that he would not kill someone, if it was not absolutely necessary.
I asked him to. [ immediately, and maybe a tad desperately? ] I thought... he had the experience, and the best chance of getting away with it. No one looks at him that closely.
anyway, he holds up a hand, waving it. ] Please, dear Swan, it's alright. I don't disagree with you - and the fact that San Lang was willing to bear that burden was unsurprising to me. Once Sora mentioned that her nova may have been splintering, I started to figure it out.
True, but you wouldn't have sent him off to die for it. [ a little? itty bit cheeky, now that they realize xie lian is. seemingly okay with it. ] I'm sure I don't have to thank you for not saying anything, but... Thank you.
[ xie lian bows his head again. ] There's nothing you have to thank me for. It did take me some time to figure it out, but... I am the only remaining person alive who knows that San Lang had that type of knife on his person.
Beings like us... we have had to make many difficult choices in our lives. I have utter faith in that he knew what he was doing, knowing the circumstances we are in. It is only worrisome to me that people would blame him for Miss Hikaru's death, when I know he had no hand in that at all.
...San Lang puts on a front that he is the "Crimson Rain", but I think few remember that he "sought flower" as well. He cares very deeply for others, when they become important to him.
[ just like shamelessly doxxes that hua cheng is a nice person to his own leader its fine ]
[ xie lian smiles back! he's happy.... he's always happy to hear someone say nice things about hua cheng. did you know hua cheng is the best? he's the best person in the WORLD.
the teasing makes his cheeks go pink, though, and he laughs, sheepish, waving his hand. ] Haha, I'm sure that isn't true. [ no it. it really is. ] But I am happy that others have gotten to know the San Lang that I have known since the first day that we met. It gives me great joy to see him speaking with others and making friends - he can be a bit abrasive sometimes, and certainly slow to trust, but he speaks well of you, as much as he can. He must trust you very much, dear Swan.
...Would it be alright, if I asked you something about the splintering nova?
That was the first time. I don't know if I'll even be able to sense it again, or if anyone else could. And... I only knew for sure by Wednesday. That's when I asked him.
[ he says this very pleasantly, like he's pleased with himself for the correct (?) slang usage. he is, probably. ]
Still, I think most of the people here are willing to work together, so... I am hoping for the best. I will keep trying to help in as many ways that I can. There are always loopholes - and where there is a will, there is always a way.
...Swan, you only sensed the one person's nova splintering, right?
[ sadness creases xie lian's expression almost immediately. he bites his lip, frowning downwards.] I thought so too.
When I asked Brother Goat about it, he wasn't sure that splintering was necessarily the case, but... with her memories fading, what else could it have been? She lost everything so quickly, and her hands... It was like she was already being removed from the Realm. She couldn't even interact with parts of it. It had to mean she was "unstable".
wow i didnt realize it was one audience post until right this minute

I know. He's a good person.
[ fondly. it's fine ? they know? and, also, teasingly; ]
Though I don't think anyone likes him as much as you do.

...How quickly were you able to tell? When you found someone who was splintering. And... was that the first time?

And...when you sense it, it's not necessarily someone on your own team, right? It could be anyone?
no subject
... Someone on my team splintered, and I didn't sense it at all. I didn't even know if the whole thing was real until I felt it for myself.

I am trying to get an idea of how many Leaders may have sensed such a thing. [ ... ] My own has not.

Nn, but, alright. I will try to catch up with the others, then, too.

It is stupid. I have never liked rules that are put in place to make things more difficult for people to help each other.

Yeah. It's up to you all to try and get together to fix things. I wish we could help more, but...
[ and there goes the question, so they shake their head ]
Only Alyssa. I didn't sense anything off about Hikaru's. To hear that she was glitching out is... kind of worrying.

Could it just be that her case was more severe?
