Not really, no. You can either pick what we do to build our friendship, or I'll just talk to you. I'm old, I've got plenty of stories to tell.

[retellers]

Show off much? We both know I don't have any.

So what if you don't remember your past, huh? What you say and do now, in the present, that's what makes you who you are.

But that also means we get to make new memories for you, today and every day going forward. And I'd like for those memories to be good ones for you.

[lionson]

Maybe! But perseverance is key, yeah?

So! What's something you want to do? Because otherwise I'm picking something I like to do.

[retellers]

I've said drinking enough everyone's convinced that's my entire personality, so I'll let you pick.

[lionson]

I'm not opposed to drinking if it's what you want to do.

[But Wolf just said he didn't want to be known just for that, so.]

You got any guns we can use? We could do some target practice.

[ they were mostly joking about constantly answering about this game driving them to drink. but they shake their head ]

Not a big gun guy. If there's any hidden around here, I haven't looked hard enough.

[lionson]

[Look, that's legit tho. This game would make anyone drink.]

What about medicine-making? I did have to make some for someone, if you want to help me with that.

[retellers]

[ it's too bad we've only just now given you alcohol, like monsters. Wolf pauses and looks a little unsure ]

I've never... done that. I don't think.

[lionson]

[And you gave it to us on the week when nobody can touch each other too. How cruel.]

Well, you might be happy to know that you're in the presence of someone who normally teaches others how to make those medicines. Learning how to make painkillers and antiseptics would be pretty useful to know too, yeah?

[retellers]

[ they still look unsure but that is now the mark of them being out of their element. they're not saying no, though ]

You even have what you need to make those?

Er...is there a garden or anything around here that I can get stuff from?

[ they just. sound so amused. ]

You might have some luck in the swamp.

[lionson]

[RIP him, he's already going over the ingredients in his mind.]

I can probably find tomato stems in the kitchen...If I look in the swamp, there's probably an ash tree there...But where the hell am I gonna find a cactus?

A cactus?

Yeah, that's one of the ingredients. You need the stems from a plant in the Nightshade family, charcoal made from the wood of an ash tree, and water from inside a cactus. You boil the water, add chopped nightshade stems and crumbled up charcoal, boil it for about an hour, and then let it simmer for three more until it becomes a dark, smoky liquid.

And that... heals?

[lionson]

That heals poisoning associated with being possessed by a snake demon, specifically.

[A pause.]

Kano asked me to make it for him and then give it to someone else, that's why I need to make it.

I also got a requested to make a hangover cure. That takes almonds, prickly pear, ginger root, and bark from a willow tree.

[retellers]

[ ......... ]

Snake demon...?

[ well. they'll leave that one alone ]

Most of that stuff should be in the kitchen except for the willow tree, but we've got some of those in the forest. So you can at least do that one.

[lionson]

Its a long story.

[The quest for cactus may take multiple weeks.]

So a hangover cure it is! And with how much people ask you to drink, you might be able to use it right away.

I keep telling them I don't drink on the job. [ but they sigh ] Want to head into the forest, then?
