[ they are trying to think of an example that he already knows about... ]
Oh. Like, an amazing amount of people did not register the explanation they gave your first few days here. So they went around assuming things, instead of going to us for clarification.
[ it was funny. anyway. ]
But mostly, I think a lot of people here see it as more black and white. If someone does not appear to be outwardly upset, then they clearly do not care, so they're a bad person. Shit like that.
Ohh. Yeah, okay, I get it. [thank you for dumbing this down for him.] You guys made it pretty clear that you're here to help us though, and that we're here because of the disturbance in the Realm.
[...he digresses. truth be told it's entirely possible he also wouldn't know what's going on if he didn't talk to everyone as much as he can.]
But that makes sense. [he frowns slightly.] But that's the thing. If what we've been told is true, then removing someone whose nova is splintering is good even if murdering them is bad. You guys obviously have a stake in this, or you wouldn't be trying to figure stuff out. [wolf may have beat that into his head.] It's been weeks and things here aren't always what they seem.
Do you think you're a good person, or a bad person, or just a person who's trying?
Yeah. It's everybody's worlds, isn't it? And you all came from someplace. I know...I thought some of you weren't sure, but looking at it now it's pretty obvious. [...] Things changed after that first week, right? None of this was supposed to happen, and now everyone's just trying to figure out what to do next.
[so he doesn't blame them. instead, he glances at them curiously as he leans back on his hands, letting his feet continue to swing slowly.]
Okay, well...what kind of a person do you want to be?
Yeah, it's a lot more obvious now than it was at the start. And... pretty much. Our original goal is still there, but we just have to deal with all these other problems on top of that big one.
[ and people seem to forget that there is the original thing which. fair. but still.
And the other problems are a big distraction. So we've got the splintering nova, the murders, the Realm's rules, and that monster running around eating up our nova and that's what's causing everything to slip away in the first place. Anything I'm missing?
[...but he's quiet for a sec.]
I'm not going to tell you what kind of person you should be. [which means he thinks tiger should try to be a good person, but. well. sometimes people do weird things. vanitas didn't want to come to the light in the end, after all.] But even with everything going on I think you can take time to decide and see what suits you best.
Who knows? Maybe I can help you figure it out. [he expects the answer to be no, but he will continue to offer to help all npcs with their personal problems regardless of what he should actually be doing.]
No, I think that's mostly it. And they're all tied together, even if we're not entirely sure how the splintering started besides that it had to do with the Virid and Hajime thing.
[ tiger 100% know what sora thinks there, and even though a mask is covering half their face, it's apparent from their expression. but they don't call him out on his nice streak to... focus on his other nice streak that he says right after. you fuckin protag. ]
Maybe Virid was the one splintering and when he killed Hajime it spread. [this is not a real suggestion, given the slightly dry tone but he nods.] Too bad there isn't a way to check and contain a splintering person without hurting them or hurting us.
[also? stop. he's helping and for a moment he tilts his head.]
Not really sure what that is, but if you mean am I going to listen if you want to talk about stuff to decide what to do? Yeah, sure. I keep saying that you guys deserve somebody to listen just as much as the rest of us.
Oh. Okay. [yeah never been to one of those but it makes sense to him.] Then sure, I guess I'll be your therapist. I don't know what kind of stuff you've gone through that you don't remember yet, or what's happened to you here, but...it's probably not great.
[otherwise tiger would not be like this, but that's okay. sora ignores the part where he probably also needs a therapist because he feels fine enough.]
Wasn't expecting it. [tiger...please.] But okay. So a few things! I brought some stuff for you to look at to see what you might like, but I also found some wooden spoons in the kitchen that we can use to try and teach you how to fight. Figured you wouldn't want to start with knives right away.
Cool. [he can almost hear the judgment though, so:]
Unless you can conjure up some wooden swords, this'll have to do. Riku and I grew up using those and turned out just fine. So spoons should be good enough.
Wanna head outside? You can finish your smoothie first if you want.
[smoothies on the go! sora picks up his shirt bundle and follows them outside. the bundle's dropped to the ground and he pulls out two wooden spoons, offering one to tiger.]
Here, take this. We're going to work on blocking first since that'll be the most important for defending yourself. How fast are you?
That's a good start. Usually if an opponent is facing you head-on, they'll rush. If you don't have time to dodge out of the way, you have to find a way to block.
[good! great! sora immediately turns his spoon to block, attempting to push tiger back.]
Like that. If you have a bigger weapon like a sword it's easy to use your opponent's momentum to make 'em stumble. And once they do--[he adjusts the spoon for a pretend strike.]--you can counterattack.
[this is so stupid. but sometimes you have to improvise a lot.]
