Yeah...[what a bummer.] ...what kind of sandwiches do you like anyway? I'll bring some next time we hang out.

Hmmm. [ they seem pensive ] Any kind is fine. I don't think I have huge sandwich opinions?

[reconnective]

Peanut butter and jelly it is. [that was easy.] I'll bring a few and maybe some other stuff. You guys have to eat too still, right?

[retellers]

Yeah. [ there's a beat ] Well, I think Goat doesn't, but that's Goat.

[reconnective]

Oh. So should I bring Goat something else when I visit? I usually bring you guys food because it's easy. [except for swan who gets special friend gifts.]

Goat still eats? I'm not sure how to explain that whole... thing.

Maybe I'll just ask Goat myself when I meet them. I just don't want to bring you guys stuff you won't like.

I don't think most of the others would mind if you really didn't know. Except Wolf and Tiger because they're jerks.

I've noticed. [dryly. he has not met tiger but he will agree with this later.] And I'm sure you don't mind but...you guys aren't the same. So I want to try remember your favorite things.

[retellers]

That's sweet. [ and then, mock sternly ] But don't forget! Mine are the most important.

I know! They're definitely the most important. [hmmm.] I know your favorite color, so...what's your favorite animal? Do you remember?

And don't say Swan.

[retellers]

I don't even like swans that much. [ they sound. so pouty. anyway, they're thinking about it ] I don't know. I think I like... koalas the best.

[reconnective]

I've never met a swan personally, so I'll take your word for it. [...hm.] But I guess Stitch is kind of like a koala? Like an alien one. So koalas are a good choice.

[can't believe he has to hunt down something koala-related now.]

[retellers]

I don't think I have either, but they're just birds.

[ . . . ]

What do you mean "like an alien koala".

[reconnective]

I like some birds. [and some birds are horrifying. but anyway he shrugs.]

I mean exactly that. Stitch is an alien, but kind of looks like a koala. Or a weird dog. Actually he's pretty cute in a weird kind of way.

[retellers]

Birds aren't bad, but I wish I was something... fiercer.

[ there's a long pause ]

Okay... so what's an alien?

[reconnective]

Oh. Aliens are like...um...I guess they're sort of like monsters from other planets? I don't really know how to explain it. I kinda wish I had a picture.

[rip.]

What would you want to be instead?

[retellers]

Don't you go to all sorts of worlds? How do you decide which ones are aliens?

[ ???? ??? ? ]

I just want to be something that fights more than a swan. I don't want to just stand back and look pretty.

[reconnective]

I don't know. I used to know but then things changed. [:|]

And I don't think swans are only there to look pretty. You can do whatever you want, even if you are a swan.

[retellers]

[ they casually push sora's shoulder with a laugh ]

Of course I'm going to do whatever I want! I'm not actually a swan, I just wear a mask with a swan on it. [ the dork is implied. ] You should try to figure out what aliens actually are instead of giving me a pep talk on animals.
