[ what if she has family who miss her, and don't know where she's gone? it hits so painfully close to home that her heart aches. ]

[retellers]

... we will. [ their voice is firm, even though it's still quiet. ] We definitely will! And then we won't ever have to do something like this again.

[chanteuser]

... Did they promise you that?

[retellers]

Oh... no, I wasn't promised anything super specific like that, I think? But if we fix everything, then there's no need for us to be here. We'll get to go home. That's less of a promise and more just that our job here will be done.

[chanteuser]

[ she's probably eased off the hug a bit now, but she's gently gripping bunny's hands instead. she squeezes them, softly. ]

No pressure, then.

[retellers]

[ she squeezes back, and smiles. ] I think that the people here are all kind. I haven't spoken to everyone yet, so I can't say I really know them all... but from what I've seen, you all seem to care. So I think we'll be able to pull it off.

[chanteuser]

I hope so.

[ for them and for her.

Should we make those parfaits now?

[retellers]

Mmhm! Should we try strawberry first? [ since those are already out. ]

[chanteuser]

[ that they are. hang on she is getting some sauce and ... wow what the heck is in a parfait anyway. (googles) ice cream. and one of those squirty tubes of whipped cream. ]

I'm pretty sure you can just layer it however you want, so I guess we just have fun with it and add whatever we feel like.

[retellers]

... we can go wild. [ she says it so seriously. ]

[chanteuser]

give her a second here. that was very serious. and also very funny. ]

Yay... this will be fun. [ she wanders off to grab some nuts. ]

[ bless her. alex will chop up some other fruits for parfait.....2 as well. ]

Come to think of it, you knew what a parfait was when we talked about desserts that first week. Have you had some here before?

[retellers]

No, I just knew. It's like... our amnesia mostly has to do with things that are more personal to us. So I know a lot of very general things, but the more specific to me it becomes, the less I know.

[chanteuser]

There's such a fine line to things here. Like... the new rule this week? What counts as touching a person and what doesn't is very specific.

[ come to think of it. ] But it doesn't apply to you and I'm guessing the other leaders either?

[retellers]

The rules in your PHS are only for you guys. We have separate ones. So, I guess that means we won't get zapped.

[chanteuser]

Good... that would've been awkward if I hurt you a moment ago. But you have your own sets of rules as well, huh?

[retellers]

They're more strictly enforced than your rules are... our hands are tied for a lot of things.

[chanteuser]

[ hmmm. ]

Do any of the rules limit how much you can get involved, or how much help you can give in things like the trials?

[retellers]

Um... well, the thing about trials is, usually we really don't know the answer to your questions... we really aren't awake.

[chanteuser]

Oh, no I understand that. But there must be limits on what you can and can't do during trials as well? Or... I sort of assumed their was.

Sort of like how you can't intervene in what comes after. [ executions... ]

[retellers]

Since we're not considered participants, we can't active well, participate, in your duties. We're only meant there to act as guides and help out where we can, but we can't help you in the actual act of doing something without being punished. It's partly why we're not allowed to give you things like weapons. Goat was only able to lend people their sword last weekend because they could take it back at any moment with their powers.

[chanteuser]

[ there's always red tape... ]

So you have wiggle room, but only a little. [ bless goat for getting around the rules. down with the system. ] I'm a little afraid to ask, but what happens if you break them...?

[retellers]

We get shocked. We don't really try too often, so we haven't seen what happens if we try to break a rule even more than what you've seen us do.
