It's easy for a person to place their own beliefs above others', and that anyone who disagrees with them is the one who is wrong. But surely, that other person would think the same.

It is not a bad thing, necessarily. That is why humans need each other. By talking to one another and seeing things from others' point of view, they can share their notions of right and wrong with each other, and from that, new values are born.
