Well, first we should ask them why they did it. It is difficult to proceed without knowing one's reasons, after all.

Because Viridian-san is dead, someone else killed somebody and there was no one we could ask for help. If Viridian-san was still here, he could have helped!

Indeed. There are times when force is necessary... but there are many times when compassion would serve just as well.

However, it seems that historically, humanity has favoured the punitive approach, even if it isn't the best. Perhaps that is where the Realm pulls its inspiration from.
