I think he just has fun trying to trip me up.

He does seem the type, yes.

[exasperated, but not as much as usual.]

Last we spoke, he was asking after whether I had seen your face.

Oh, was he?

Yeah, he's been pretty curious about it.

Which now extends to trying to get it out of me, I suppose-- as if I would simply tell him even if I had.

Well, at least he's determined. That's a good character trait somewhere.

When it is not an annoyance, yes.

[a slight roll of his eyes.

after a pause, though-]

'Tis more familiar to me, that all of you wear them.

[ oh. they glance at him. ]

People wore masks a lot what you're from?

[arkitect]

All of us did, yes. The same robes, the same white masks-- save for the Convocation, who wore red masks of unique design to set them apart.

[retellers]

[ that is very cultish, but tiger currently has no room to say that. ]

What's the Convocation?

[arkitect]

Our leadership. A group of fourteen of us; our people were the stewards of the world, and the Convocation their guiding hand. Each was chosen as the best candidate for their particular duty.

[retellers]

So... basically each person was in charge of a different thing.

[ hm. ]

What were they like?

[arkitect]

Essentially, yes. But as a whole, we helped to oversee the world and our people, just as the constellations we are associated with shone their light down upon us all.

All varied, however. Some were more reserved, others outspoken, and one among us was tasked to be a neutral member who did not take sides between us. Our Emissary.

it's funny, because tiger is not the type to be neutral in anything, so they just hum lightly. ]

That must have been an interesting position.
