[ raven makes his wish and...

nothing happens! hm.

but if raven leaves the building at some point and i sure hope he does, a figure suddenly lands on the ground next to him. it's as if they jumped from the planetarium roof, but raven won't recall actually seeing someone jump...? anyway.

going by the horns and ears, it's a safe bet to say this is goat. they say nothing, apparently waiting for raven to make the first move. ]

[laid]

[Well the first move he's going to make is practically falling over backwards as he startles at the sudden arrival!]

Man, warn a guy before you do somethin' like that, would ya!?

[retellers]

Oh. My apologies.

[ when goat speaks, raven might notice that where one might normally have molars, goat has rows of fang in the back of their mouth. it's probably fine. ]

Are you all right?

[laid]

[Raven standing here, trying to remember if goats are supposed to have teeth like that? Did Wolf have weird teeth when he talked to them before??? Anyway, he puts a hand to his chest, over his heart.]

I dunno, a spook like that'll strain this old man's heart.
[A beat, and then he laughs.]

Just a joke. I'll be fine. Just didn't expect ya to show up like that. Figured I aughta introduce myself to my fearless leader.
[It's hard to tell how much of this is sarcastic but it's definitely at least partly sarcastic. In any case, he's holding out the flowers.]

[retellers]

You are still young, though...

[ oh! it's a joke. phew.

they nod, any sarcasm possibly flying over their head. ]

week 1, thursday

[retellers]

[ luckily for raven, goat was heading back to town thanks to A Thing, so raven won't have to go and look for goat in the forest.

which is to say that, again, nothing happens, but when raven steps out of the planetarium, goat abruptly appears. ]

[laid]

[Luckily this time he's expecting it, so he doesn't jump! He just plops the shutter shades onto Goat's face right over his mask.]

I gotta question for ya, Boss. A request, really.

[retellers]

"Boss"...? [ they do not react to having shades plopped on their face. ] Go ahead.

[laid]

[He figured they wouldn't, and I personally hope he keeps them on for trial.]

You're the team leader, that makes ya the boss.
[Anyway]

There's a building in town that seems like it'd have first aid supplies in it, but it's locked. Don't suppose there's anything you can do 'bout that?

[retellers]

[ they shake their head. ]

Swan and I have tried to enter, whether through our powers or by force, but failed.

week 3, monday

[retellers]

[ suddenly, goat appears in the room! ]

Are you all right...? [ a beat. ] Um, you do remember me, right?

[ THE SCHWANN THING CONFUSES THEM ]

[laid]

[In retrospect he probably drew the worlds shittiest goat given he can't see it. And someone else had to explain to him what to do. And where. Being blind is hard.]

I do remember you. Our previous conversations are just a little fuzzy.
[Since they were with Raven, really, he thinks. Anyway;]

I've been worse. I came to ask you the same, actually. Given that there's three of our team dead now, apparently.

[retellers]

Oh. Well, I can remind you of what we talked about, if you need it...

[ maybe. no promises that goat's memory is great, except they have no excuse. ]

... You don't need to worry about me.

[laid]

[Well. As a seasoned question dodger, he knows a dodge when he sees one.]

That's not what I asked.
[He'll decide whether or not to worry after he's gotten a real answer.]

[ so yeah, someone may or may not be killable on thursday night now. it's fine. ]

week 4, monday

[retellers]

[ Swan appears in the room! This would be notable except they can teleport normally anyway. They seem a little curious to see Raven, though. ]

Hi? Did you draw the wrong one?

[ swan. ]

[laid]

[Wow!!!]

Maybe I wanted ta branch out a bit. [Besides Goat is Right There if he wants to talk to them.] Would ya rather I talk to someone else?

[He doesn't think Swan likes him very much.]

[retellers]

No, it's fine, I just... didn't expect it?

[ they don't have the highest opinion of him but they're also, like, aware they haven't talked much so they will be Good ]

So what did you want to talk about?

[laid]

Maybe I've just got swans on my mind.

[Because y'know. Schwann. He's got no idea if Swan knows about that, he doesn't know what the leaders chat about when they're not here.]

Well fer starters, I oughta ask you if you've gotten any of your memories back.

[retellers]

[ she does remember Bird Jokes, so. ]

Just the one, and nothing from the Realm or whatever the others say they've got.

week 7 after trial

[laid]

[Well, Raven really should be resting, but he rested a little while and decided to go out!! When he finds Lessa, he'll hold out some flowers, like how he'd given him the first time they'd met.]

Looks like we made it through, one way or another, boss.
[Maybe they did it right? Maybe not! Who can say!!! Might as well just be glad it's over.]

[ he takes the flowers! ]

So it seems. I hope your journey on the way back wasn't too arduous, at least...

Eh, it was pretty terrible, but it was that way fer all of us, I think. The important thing is we got through it, right?

[He's just gonna sit down wherever they are, even if it's the ground. It's fine.]

It is. [ a beat. ] Um, how are you doing? You seemed to be in a bad state at the end.

[Neat! He can work on becoming one with the dirt.]

I'll be fine. This thing's not perfect, but it's pretty resilient.
