... well, I think that even after everything that happened, it's nothing that surprises me greatly. It's a bit saddening and worrying, of course. I'm not a fan of relentless bloodshed.

But I think.... that as a king, it's my responsibility to take matters like this into account.

I consider it less a matter of popularity and more the fact that it's expected that some may desire the throne for themselves.

I've only been a king for a year... but I suppose given my age, people might think it easy to take advantage of me.

Ah, the other royalty in the surrounding kingdoms are a bit older than me, mostly. Even Princess Tao in the country of Xing is 19, but other rulers are typically somewhere in their 30s or so.

Most of my generals are a few decades my senior.

But that's true. I've at least tried to handle many things as directly as I can in the past year. Even if just for now, I think I've been able to get the country stabilized from where it used to be.

No, I loved him. [and this he seems to mean it sincerely] He was very nice. A bit clumsy and some would call him cowardly, but he loved Yona more than anything. He championed kindness, and I think that the world he dreamed of must have been very peaceful. I would've liked to see it come true.

It's just that championing kindness, and placing one person above all else..... It concentrates happiness and prosperity in one spot. It neglects to realize the hardships of everyone else who is not being prioritized, and things will fall to ruin. During his reign, everything outside the castle walls...

The reincarnation of King Hiryuu, the very first king in our country. A dragon god who descended and lived among the people because he loved humanity. King Il had thought that she was Hiryuu's avatar.

And so... he thought that as long as he could protect her, then the gods of legend would intervene and come save the kingdom.
