[ . . . . he reaches up to pinch the bridge of his nose at that, as if warding off another headache - but at least this one is of his own making.]
.... I don't want to hurt anyone.
[ . . .
but?]
.... but if there's no other way to bring people back....
.... I don't want to hurt anyone.
[ . . .

.... but if there's no other way to bring people back....
[ . . . . ]
I know.
[and he'll reach out to take goat's hand if the other will let him.]
... but I don't know if these two situations.... If bringing back the removed.... who have lost their lives because they were brought to this Realm against their will, as opposed to dying at the end of their natural life -
Are they the same circumstances?
I know.
[and he'll reach out to take goat's hand if the other will let him.]

[ . . . . ]
It would. It would be a sin, along with any other. There is no truly 'good reason' to take a life, even if reason does exist.
[and his expression turns saddened at that, thoughtful. normally he doesn't bother to ask others for their opinions but - goat is less his leader, but more his friend. and someone whose insights he does treasure on their own merit.]
... but what is the alternative? We gather enough nova to restabilize the Realm without them? No wish can bring them back, even if someone wins and wants to do so. We have to accept them as losses and move on?
Is that.... any easier to live with?

No.
[and soo-won answers quickly - almost too quickly, emotionally, before he catches himself.]
... No, that's not....
[ . . . no, think - rationally. logically.]
What would the point of it then be? How do we know that it would work? If you have to revive all members of the same team by that team killing - then if that team fails to exist by the end... what does that mean? Do the removed also get reassigned? Will my murder of Sharon then be reassigned with me?
If we don't know what will come of it then.... how could I allow that?

[ . . . . . . soo-won thought that this morning was already enough in terms of him being shaken, worried. even though he knew how it would end with emet-selch, he'd still found himself emotionally vulnerable enough to emit even the slightest of worried expressions during the execution.
but it pales in comparison to this, actually. he's shaken - and he pulls his hand from goat's if only so that the other might not notice the way that his hand almost wants to cling tighter instead of pull away.]
.... do you think I want to kill people, Goat?
That anyone would do, and I don't care about their lives? Is that why you're offering yourself?

[ . . . . .
but I don't want to.
what a childish, plaintive response. yet in this moment, it rests on soo-won's tongue because ultimately, for all his talk of logic and certainty - it is hurting his friends that makes him stay in one spot. that makes him unable to move.
it's why he's always unable to take a single step, in the face of hak's anger, even if it might mean his own death - which he otherwise tries so hard to avoid.]
.... if I find information that suggests that it would be the best course of action -
.... I will try to honor your request.
[but.
he's not sure if he can make that choice a moment sooner.]

[ . . . . he's surprised again at that. and then, almost petulantly - ]
.... you can't ask me to remove you, and then comfort me after your own request, stubborn old goat.
[but.
he drops his forehead to rest on goat's shoulder anyway, if only to obscure his expression.]

[ . . . . it won't take that long, because he has to put himself back together. there's no denying the saddened quality to his gaze even as he lifts his head - because he cannot deny the suffering it would bring him to have to hurt his friend even more than he already has.
but perhaps.... that too is deserved, for what he is considering.]
.... until that happens, I....
.... I may have to do what I can to at least ensure that our team would be brought back. I don't.... know about the others but -
If you're willing to make a sacrifice like that... I don't want it to be for nothing.

I don't. I admit, that may be hard to get, given that the topic already passed between myself and Wolf - and if Fox even got the same information, they're holding it close to the chest.
.... but I may pursue it regardless, if this week's information tells us nothing new.
But at present... before this week, Wolf, Rabbit, Fox, and our team all killed one each. This weekend, the information is not with any of us - but may be with Swan, Fox, or both. Tiger still hasn't accomplished a kill. I... worry that one kill only on each team will not be enough to revive their removed.
