KING RULEBOOK

the king

On Sunday, at 6pm, Emet-Selch will receive a message on his PHS.
πŸ‘€ ➑️ 🏰

go there.

Upon receiving this message, Emet-Selch will notice that the castle appears closer than usual. Should he head towards it, he will finally be able to reach its entrance. Inside is a large hall with various doors, along with a staircase, but he will be able to access only a single door. Once he steps inside, he will find his Leader waiting for him.

After their meeting is over and he leaves the castle, he will no longer be able to reach the castle again.

As the King:
Every Sunday, the King will be able to create one rule and one order that must be followed. These decrees will go into effect on the Monday of the following week, and will last until the following Sunday.

The two decrees are as follows:
    1) One rule that every participant must follow, the only stipulations being that it cannot contradict any of the current rules and that you cannot consecutively make the same rule. This rule will be added to the official rulebook, and anyone who breaks it will be punished.

    2) One order that one participant must follow. The participant will not be informed that an order has been given to them, and will only be aware of an urge to obey it. The participant will follow this order until the new week begins, or until the King chooses to remove it.

Additional notes:
The King will be allowed to ask questions about the on-goings of the game and communicate with their Leader in their weekly meetings. They may receive small hints should they perform well. However, the information received will be up to their Leader's discretion.

And it seems as if that may be easier if we are able to make more progress toward stabilization.

[his arms fold, fingers of one tapping idly on the other.]

If we are to aim to gather as much nova as possible, then I have a theory as to how an order may be used. Prompt someone to kill-- specifically someone that others care for-- and, if successful, the result will be a chain of stronger emotional reactions. The realization when others begin to find the truth, those close to them perhaps trying to keep them safe from discovery should they notice... even the weight of it upon them after being driven to act, not to mention the emotions of their victim. This will not be positive, by any means, but if stronger emotions are necessary...

Then for the sake of what we are trying to accomplish, whatever they may go through means little in comparison to the results.

[he glances back to tiger, there.]

Off the mark, or potentially worth the effort? If it is unlikely to be worthwhile, then it may be too much of a risk.

Then my follow-up question is just how direct an order must be.

[another moment of consideration for his wording, but- well, he's clearly been thinking about this.]

If it implants an urge to follow the directive, then if possible... the wording of it may be used to help with that little problem.

It may be a worthwhile experiment. If they are unaware it is an order, I had thought perhaps I could impart some motivation-- kill another participant for a specific person's sake, something along those lines. Choose someone they care enough about for it to matter. There would be no real external threat, but if they simply had the urge to kill for that person...

[that might be an entirely different story from simply an urge to kill.]

I'll consider possible experiments.

[a slight nod, with that. likely a better direction than just seeing outright if it works, given what he intends to do.]

Moving along, then. The last rule gave them a timeline. If I were to make one forbidding something, and someone were to break it-- would it have a more immediate sort of punishment? Or would it be delayed as well?

I have had quite enough of all the... touchiness, for the time being. I would be left in peace for at least one week.

['is he gonna try and ban anything useful' no it's intentional physical contact. which i guess could be useful depending on how murders go.

but he raises a brow-]

I do not believe I asked, before, what that punishment will be.

I suppose we shall see, then.

[emet, for one, will be very curious about it!]

Ah, and before I forget... I do believe you said you could begin providing some direction this week?

[yes hello he'd like to work on at least knowing when he is fucking with a teammate. no promises that he won't still do it.]

[me, immediately fucking struggling to remember how many of these eyepatch men we have: fuck]

It would make it too easy if you narrowed it down overmuch, wouldn't it.

Most likely not. It does narrow the field quite a bit.

[he finally turns from the window, there, leaning against it instead.]

Is there aught else which has changed, in the last week, or does everything proceed apace?

Would there be a case where any of you would not sense one?

It is a possibility, then, that a small one could go unnoticed until it grows into something worse...

[hm. don't like that.]

-but speaking of the boy, and of others, as a matter of fact. In this Realm, just what happens to the souls of the departed? I have been curious.

[mr underworld affinity definitely was going to get around to that sooner or later.]

That isn't a particular concern of mine.

[he cares most about what happens to his own, if things go wrong.]

Are you unable to say more specifically? I do assume that it will not be the same as it normally is for me, should anything happen, but it never hurts to have some awareness.

...very well.

[he exhales a sigh, stepping away from the window to go sit down.]

What of this, then-- by 'not somewhere we can all see them again', do you mean that there is no probable return from it?
