KING RULEBOOK

the king

On Sunday, at 6pm, Emet-Selch will receive a message on his PHS.
πŸ‘€ ➑️ 🏰

go there.

Upon receiving this message, Emet-Selch will notice that the castle appears closer than usual. Should he head towards it, he will finally be able to reach its entrance. Inside is a large hall with various doors, along with a staircase, but he will be able to access only a single door. Once he steps inside, he will find his Leader waiting for him.

After their meeting is over and he leaves the castle, he will no longer be able to reach the castle again.

As the King:
Every Sunday, the King will be able to create one rule and one order that must be followed. These decrees will go into effect on the Monday of the following week, and will last until the following Sunday.

The two decrees are as follows:
    1) One rule that every participant must follow, the only stipulations being that it cannot contradict any of the current rules and that you cannot consecutively make the same rule. This rule will be added to the official rulebook, and anyone who breaks it will be punished.

    2) One order that one participant must follow. The participant will not be informed that an order has been given to them, and will only be aware of an urge to obey it. The participant will follow this order until the new week begins, or until the King chooses to remove it.

Additional notes:
The King will be allowed to ask questions about the on-goings of the game and communicate with their Leader in their weekly meetings. They may receive small hints should they perform well. However, the information received will be up to their Leader's discretion.

Then, having seen more of what has happened since we arrived, particularly the last few days...

As one of the leaders here, how do you believe this ought to proceed?

If it does think so after this, then do you intend to encourage avoiding repeat incidents?

[or if it ends up part of all this, is engaging in it going to be necessary?

he'll be fine either way, really.]

Should it come to it, I doubt there will truly be another choice. There rarely is.

[it has to end one way or another, because with anyone still taking part, it will just drag itself out.

a brief sigh, and-]

You have met more of us now. Given the looks of things, I suppose that I should at the least pay some mind to who is meant to be on the same team, if not to the competition itself-- provided that you have any direction there, that is.

[so, you know, he can at least try to be aware of it if a teammate becomes a Problem.]

[rules are for people who care about them, tiger, c'mon. he just rolls his eyes.]

Naturally.

[of course there's still a delay. he's not very surprised about it, at least, because everything here feels designed to be at least a little annoying.]

I cannot say much for teamwork with this particular group, either. Among like-minded individuals, certainly, but... [a vague handwave. too many mortals here. they wouldn't appreciate his civilization's values, for the most part, and it remains possible their leaders aren't much different.] This group has no such cohesiveness to it.

[very, very tiredly:]

So you do.

[guess who is tired of those ideals. just guess.]

And half of them are unable to restrain themselves.

Of course they are. They remain desperate to seek out other answers-- something like that is hardly going to stop them.

I suspect you know very well how they are going to learn, and that it will only repeat itself.

Particularly if they ever do find deeper meaning past one.

At least little of value will be lost, should they die that way.

[if you're that dumb, do they really need you.]

Ah, but returning to other questions- if those breaking a rule are to be punished, then in what manner?

Is it a case where you cannot say, exactly? If I am to make them, then I fail to see why I should not know what comes of it.

[if this is a realm thing, then he is just stating that for the record.]

Is it, now... I suppose I find that fitting enough.

[he'll ask once he settles on it.]

Now, I expect this to fall under confidentiality, but- if I have been given this position, then are you aware if I am the only one with some such function? It does seem as if it would weight the competition somewhat in your direction, were you the only one with this oversight.

[particularly having someone able to issue orders.]

I should certainly hope so, else the rules could become a mess very quickly.

[which might be entertaining, let's be fair, but. no, best to have only one person doing this.]
