the king On Sunday, at 6pm, Emet-Selch will receive a message on his PHS. 👤 ➡️ 🏰 go there. Upon receiving this message, Emet-Selch will notice that the castle appears closer than usual. Should he head towards it, he will finally be able to reach its entrance. Inside is a large hall with various doors, along with a staircase, but he will be able to access only a single door. Once he steps inside, he will find his Leader waiting for him. After their meeting is over and he leaves the castle, he will no longer be able to reach the castle again. ༶•┈┈⛧┈｡o°✥✣ 　　 ✣✥°o｡┈⛧┈┈•༶ As the King: Every Sunday, the King will be able to create one rule and one order that must be followed. These decrees will go into effect on the Monday of the following week, and will last until the following Sunday. The two decrees are as follows: 1) One rule that every participant must follow, the only stipulations being that it cannot contradict any of the current rules and that you cannot consecutively make the same rule. This rule will be added to the official rulebook, and anyone who breaks it will be punished. 2) One order that one participant must follow. The participant will not be informed that an order has been given to them, and will only be aware of an urge to obey it. The participant will follow this order until the new week begins, or until the King chooses to remove it. ༶•┈┈⛧┈｡o°✥✣ 　　 ✣✥°o｡┈⛧┈┈•༶ Additional notes: The King will be allowed to ask questions about the on-goings of the game and communicate with their Leader in their weekly meetings. They may receive small hints should they perform well. However, the information received will be up to their Leader's discretion.

Is it a case where you cannot say, exactly? If I am to make them, then I fail to see why I should not know what comes of it.

It's more that the punishment is going to change depending on what the rule is.

Is it, now... I suppose I find that fitting enough.

Now, I expect this to fall under confidentiality, but- if I have been given this position, then are you aware if I am the only one with some such function? It does seem as if it would weight the competition somewhat in your direction, were you the only one with this oversight.

I cannot confirm nor deny if the other teams have something similar.

I should certainly hope so, else the rules could become a mess very quickly.

[which might be entertaining, let's be fair, but. no, best to have only one person doing this.]

Oh, definitely. We'd probably end up with a bunch of contradictory ones.

WEEK 2

[retellers]

[ The room is decorated almost like a coffee shop, with a few booths and tables. There's a counter where an arrangement of different drinks can be ordered from, even though there's no one behind it.

Tiger is standing at a window, looking out of it. ]

[ Tiger is here to answer any questions. ]

[he'll join them at the window, this time, glancing out of it as well-- he wouldn't mind taking a look at the view from here.]

Well, I suppose you have had your turn suffering the group as a whole now. I certainly do not envy you the position after the last few days.

[retellers]

[ oddly enough, instead of a view of the castle grounds and forest, there's one of what appears to be a modern city's slums.

tiger turns their attention away from the window to look at him. ]

Yeah, I've already been yelled at. But it was expected.

[arkitect]

[oh, that's interesting; he's looking a little more at it than tiger, though he's still listening, glancing briefly back to them.]

After everything, I would be disappointed were you surprised by it.

[people here really do yell about everything.]

I do have more questions, but first, I would ask if this failure is a detriment to us-- past the obvious answer of that entire mess, earlier.

[he definitely saw people ask about what happens to an innocent person if they're voted, but if anybody asked if being wrong in general fucks anything up i sure missed it,]

[ they're thinking... before slowly shaking their head. ]

I don't think so. I think that... it might be a problem depending on why exactly they killed. If it was someone who only wanted a memory back or something, that's one thing, but if it was someone who had some other goal in mind...

[ a pause. ]

But at the very least, there wasn't like, a giant disturbance or anything after that happened, so we're probably in the clear for now.

[arkitect]

Only a problem in the sense that they may continue to act toward such goals, then.

[good to know. a moment of consideration, before-]

I don't expect the answer to have changed, but given that this has continued, I do feel I should ask-- are we still to fend for ourselves, when it comes to self-defense?

[all these people that came with weapons or are jocks and here he is with none magic, he hates it, thank you.]

[retellers]

... if there's ever a situation where things like weapons are available, don't hesitate to arm yourself. As soon as you can.

[ they turn away from the window. ]

I can't give you a weapon, if I try, it's...

[ there's a pause, and they hold their hands out--and then they're suddenly shocked, much like what happened when goat tried to break through the barrier at the removal. as soon as they put their hands down, it stops. ]

That. [ give them a second to recompose themself. ] But I'm not going to tell you not to be prepared.

[arkitect]

You do not have to demonstrate-

[tiger? don't get yourself shocked, what the hell. he exhales a slow sigh, after that.]

...but I certainly intend to. Lacking magic is a far cry from simply lacking a sword, when one is already skilled in combat-- 'twould be far simpler if I could find a firearm.

[this is where i hate ff for making it canon that he can use guns. why did he need that. time to just bother chiron to make his ass a bow.]

I can make do with whatever may become available, however.

but they nod their head slowly. ]

Wherever the gateways open up to, I'll suggest looking through them as soon as possible. All the scalpels Kano got was from the station, so who knows what you'll be able to find in the future?

[yeah i hate it too but it's the truth.]

I had hoped not to need to make do with something quite that small. But next time, I suppose there will be little choice.

[avoiding being close enough to use one is preferable...]

As for further questions... I do wonder just how much of a problem these continued deaths truly are. If what we require is drawn to emotion, then should there be enough of a reaction-- well. It would seem a possibility that they could be useful in at least some way.

[retellers]

[ they seem to be genuinely thinking on the suggestion. ]

If we can figure out if there really is some deeper, secretive reason that Virid had, like a lot of people are speculating, it'll be easier.

[arkitect]

And it seems as if that may be easier if we are able to make more progress toward stabilization.

[his arms fold, fingers of one tapping idly on the other.]

If we are to aim to gather as much nova as possible, then I have a theory as to how an order may be used. Prompt someone to kill-- specifically someone that others care for-- and, if successful, the result will be a chain of stronger emotional reactions. The realization when others begin to find the truth, those close to them perhaps trying to keep them safe from discovery should they notice... even the weight of it upon them after being driven to act, not to mention the emotions of their victim. This will not be positive, by any means, but if stronger emotions are necessary...

Then for the sake of what we are trying to accomplish, whatever they may go through means little in comparison to the results.

[he glances back to tiger, there.]

Off the mark, or potentially worth the effort? If it is unlikely to be worthwhile, then it may be too much of a risk.

[retellers]

It could be possible.

The problem then is who would actually be willing to do that. Most of the people here seem to be fairly anti-murder, or at least in the sense that they would need a really good reason to do it.

[ they sigh. ]

So... I'm not saying that won't work, but more that getting someone to go along with it may be tricky.

[arkitect]

Then my follow-up question is just how direct an order must be.

If it implants an urge to follow the directive, then if possible... the wording of it may be used to help with that little problem.

[retellers]

You could try to test out the wording at first. Pick something else that may be difficult to follow, and see what happens.
