THE KNIGHT On Monday, at 11pm, Xie Lian will receive a message on his PHS. come to the castle and be discreet. it is important. Upon receiving this message, Xie Lian will notice that the castle appears closer than usual. Should he head towards it, he will finally be able to reach its entrance. Inside is a large hall with various doors, along with a staircase, but Xie Lian will be able to access only a single door. Once he steps inside, he will find his Leader waiting for him. After their meeting is over and he leaves the castle, he will no longer be able to reach the castle again. As the Knight: Every Monday, the Knight will be given the chance to protect 1-2 participants in two different ways, active only for the current week. They may choose to apply both means of immunity to the same participant, or they can pick a different person for each one. Or, if they so wish, no one at all. The two forms of protection are active only as long as the Knight is still alive and are as follows:
2.) They can give one participant immunity from execution on Sunday. If this participant is voted for at trial, they will survive their execution. However, they cannot be aware or harbour strong suspicions that they are protected, or else the immunity will fail. Additional notes: The Knight will be allowed to ask questions about the on-goings of the game and communicate with their Leader in their weekly meetings. They may receive small hints should they perform well. However, the information received will be up to their Leader's discretion. |

Oh, I'm fine. Actually, the dowel not being in there makes it hurt less - it was in there for a hundred years or so. This way at least it's not being agitated too much. [ the normal amount of pain is zero, xie lian ]
Where's the worst of yours? Is it...um, bandage-able?

[ he nods, though, and pulls out the bandages from the bag, giving him a smile! ] Can I help you? They will need to be replaced, but the pressure has helped to staunch mine at least a bit more. I'm quite experienced with this kind of thing.

[ goat has never had to bandage his wounds in his life so he can't do shit.
goat awkwardly removes his cloak, which makes it clear what the problem is—he's missing his left hand. actually, as he struggles with removing his shirt with one hand without just tearing it, it's probably obvious from the way his clothes flop that his entire left arm and maybe then some is gone. ]

and then remembers himself and scooches into the space between them to help him undo his shirt, carefully batting his hand (i typed hands plural first i hate this) away. ]
I'm getting the strangest sense of deja vu... [ but, beyond that, he will settle down to help properly. the shirt looks like a terribly bloody lost cause anyway, so he's gonna use it to staunch the bleeding with pressure with his two, functional hands. ]

[ once xie lian gets his shirt off, the damage is obvious: it looks like goat's entire left shoulder area/upper chest just kind of. disintegrated? hard to say what would've caused the original injury, since it doesn't seem like it was from an explosion or anything (spoilers: the sheer fucking coincidence is that it got turned to ash).
but since xie lian is touching the injury, they both get to feel... whatever having a chunk of the left side of your body disintegrating feels like. ]

i mean. xie lian's trying to be careful, but it seems even touching the injury covered causes the issue. he gasps as the pain lights up his own nerves (and immediately has a flashback to earlier this week) and nearly jerks his hand back.
it takes him a moment to compose himself - he grits his teeth against the pain and shuts his eyes, then. exhales out, in a gush of air. this is the first time he's actually felt the pain from someone else's injury (and one he's never had before, either) and it caught him off guard. ]
...I'm sorry. [ he apologizes, softly, and removes his hands. ] ...If you can hold the pressure like I just was with your own hand, perhaps that would be better. I can direct you on how to bandage it properly after.

but goat also looks caught off-guard, as he grits his teeth for a moment, before nodding. ]

It—it is fine. I don't remember when I was injured like this, at any rate. So, it doesn't mean anything to me.

Still... the very last thing I want to do is cause you any abject suffering. Pain certainly means something, even if you don't remember where it came from. [ hasn't goat suffered enough.... ] I think... I am very tired of watching people that I care about quite a bit have body parts disintegrate, so I pray that this is just an effect like any other week and it will vanish quickly.

Normally, if I'm injured badly enough, it takes time for me to heal. I do so faster than a normal human, but, I don't have any spiritual energy in my meridians at all so I can't use that to make it go any faster. I'm used to bleeding a lot, but the reopening is a surprise...

We will simply have to persevere through this week... Hopefully, whatever surprises await in a few days won't involve any strenuous movement. I'm a little worried about the Leaders out in town, as well...

[ xie lian smiles, a little. ] We're really communicating with each other, now. The person I choose to save for execution this week - I should be able to save them again, as long as everything goes to plan. That would make for three... and hopefully, with the successful kills on Thursday, we will have reached the goal of bringing back the Removed, and not have to suffer another loss for it.
...I've done the best that I can to try to minimize as much loss as possible.
I want... I really, really want to be successful again this week, Brother Goat. I really do.
