god if alphi didn't hit every single one of lup's twin senses. taako and alphi are NOTHING alike, but she instantly bonded over the fact that they both had a twin they were missing, in a sense. alphi is real nerdy and actually reminds her more of maybe like, barry or lucretia in sense of people she knows, and so he tended to be a person she'd be more inclined to dunk on. she liked the talks they had about magic, and she figured that alphi is a smart cookie and she loves that, like someone she can actually sit down with and discuss magic theory? a+. lup knows she doesn't come off as a scientist type, but she really is.
he was also very sweet to her about taako forgetting her, and about her forgetting her name. she holds onto stuff like that, and she kept it in mind all the way to the end.
but the whole cyoa they went on was really the most intense part of their cr and i think normally, lup probably wouldn't have cared as much about him if she didn't know he had a twin waiting for him back home. he got to play surrogate taako that whole cyoa, and she did a lot of stuff for him that she would not have done for other people. like, carrying alphi through, making sure he got treated before her, tossing him out of harm's way and getting her finger ripped off as a reward, those are all like... way more selfless things that she might not necessarily do for everybody. but alphi very firmly was brotherzoned and i think there was no way that she wasn't going to basically get stabbed for him.
it didn't extend very far outside the cyoa, necessarily? but in that context, she had really pushed herself to her limits because in her head, he needed a sister to look out for him. she thought about it after, and figured like... if it'd been like alisaie and taako, she'd want alisaie to look after taako, so.
