bucky and lup had SUCH a weird cr because lup pretty much always liked him, but she definitely did the "i like you so i'm mean to you" thing that the twins do to people with bucky. bucky was an easy target and lup thought it was funny to pick on him and see if she could get him to bite back, which he did sometimes! she likes grumps. she likes teasing grumps, and i think bucky had JUST enough sass to be someone she didn't feel bad about bantering with. sometimes she picks on people and then immediately feels bad about it, like with mob lsmfs but bucky wasn't like that! he sassed her about the shaving knife and about a lot of stuff and it was a good, easy back and forth that she appreciated.

on top of that she appreciated him helping her out with kano and like, the... idk, mutual guilt they had over kano was something she kept in mind. they both knew they got played but like, at the same time, there was a frustration that they both did what they thought they had to do and then had nothing to show for it.

ALSO he was nice to taako. anybody who is nice to taako immediately is in her good books. after the whole physical affection thing, taako seemed pretty content, so she kept bucky in mind as someone who could be trusted not to hurt him. they had a solidarity in losing their names, too, which i don't think lup ever really brought up with him, but it made her feel a little more like she wasn't alone, since they were both early in the game re: the name loss stuff. it was nice to not be the only one.

so then they find out he's a wolf, and the meeting where taako had forgotten lup and all the wolves tried to cheer her up - that was really good. that was a good boost for her. bucky letting her put stickers on him and being a good sport about his Broodiness and like, letting her joke around about it? that's the best way to let lup like, get it out of her system. it was mentioned in the narrative towards the end of the game in one of our threads where bucky figured lup was pretty allergic to feelings and he was right. it's not that she thinks it makes her look... idk, weak or anything, because she's okay with that, it's just more that it's embarrassing and she likes to look like she's put together. taako forgetting her fucked her up and bucky helped with making her feel a little less like she was alone. all the wolves did - she went from feeling disconnected to feeling like she was part of something again.

also i will tell you a secret - the second that trial started looking like they were going to vote for bucky, she VERY unsubtly started trying to frame fiora instead because she didn't want bucky to get pinned for a murder she knew he didn't do skfskd. i'm almost surprised she didn't get called out more for that because she was absolutely an asshole about it. and then like, taako ended up getting picked for execution and i think like, the fact that bucky did his best to not have to hurt taako just made her like him even more. she felt really bad about not being able to save bucky, and even though she's a little mad that he punched xie lian for it, she still gets it. she wishes it had been different because bucky really didn't deserve to get killed, ESPECIALLY because she knew one of the killers that week, wheezes.

i liked the cr they had a lot though, god. i think they could've been really good friends if i hadn't dropped the ball, but even so lup came away from the game really hoping that bucky got to go home to something somewhat nice. wolf solidarity!! maybe she will come visit him and MAKE him have something nice. :knife:
