God Alphinaud, Chiron is truly sorry about his trash tastes.

But no really, Chiron ended up being quite fond of Alphinaud. He was a kind boy who was eager to help others, and Chiron was not at all surprised to find out he was a hero of his world. Even if he downplayed his accomplishments, his soul seemed very good, calm, and steadfast - the type that would spawn a Heroic Servant in another lifetime.

And to be honest, knowing that Alphinaud was a hero fighting against Emet put him at ease, in some ways, even though I do not think Chiron ever admitted as such. Chiron cares for Emet but has also accepted that if Emet were pulling that shit on his own planet, Chiron would have lovingly put an arrow in his eye. Life moves on regardless of who was once in charge, sorry sir.

So it's like -- emotionally, he is tied with Emet, but in terms of who he's been rooting to win, that has always Alphinaud and his group. (Not even because Chiron views it in terms of "good vs evil", he's too old to boil the conflict down to that, but Emet had in Chiron's opinion already lost the battle and just needed that to be beaten into his head.)

SO CHIRON. TRULY APPROVED OF ALPHINAUD. That's the secret lore. If they hadn't been losing memories left and right (and if I had been more on top of my PCs), he would have more officially made Alphinaud a student of his when it came to medicine, but even if that didn't come to pass, he still trusted the other to take care of the others when he died. A good elf-boy, 10/10.
