GRAVEYARD 2.0
GRAVEYARD Well, that sucked. But no matter what your death was like—whether it was something peaceful or traumatic, you'll find yourself waking in a completely white room on the floor. Small and empty, there isn't anything else there besides an open door to walk through. But before you do that, you'll probably notice that whatever injuries you may have had, including whatever may have been the death blow, are now gone. That's exciting. Stepping out of the room, it seems that you're in a large... house? with three different floors. Everything from floor, ceiling to furniture is completely white, except for the drawings that are plastered to the walls in each room. These are all colorful, drawn in colored pencils and crayon, and resemble a child's drawing. The other notable thing are the windows. While they're present all around the building, looking out of them only shows TV static. Besides that, everything is furnished with the absolute bare minimum of each room. The first floor is all typical common areas one would find in a house. There's a kitchen, living room area, laundry room, dining room, and a main hallway where the stairs are. There are also helpful drawings in these rooms that show the rooms much more lavishly decorated than they actually are. There's a door that appears to be the way to exit the building, it's locked. The second floor consists of nothing but twenty bedrooms. Each room has one queen sized bed, an empty dresser, and an attached bathroom with only a sink, toilet, and shower. Like the first floor, each bedroom has drawn pictures that show it looking much more lavish than it actually does. Thanks for nothing, artist! The third floor only has two rooms. One appears to be a home office with nothing but a desk and two chairs, one behind it and one in front of it. While there's blank pieces of paper and crayons on the desk, the note that was previously there is gone. The other room is much larger, and it's completely empty save for the many drawings lining its walls— in fact, the walls are covered in them, much more than in any other room. On closer inspection, though, it seems like these aren't actually drawings? The papers seem to be showing scenes from the living area. Everything from inside the hotel to the areas beyond the bridge are visible here. However, when curfew hits on Thursday nights, they revert to being normal drawings! Except for the fact that they're all drawings of stick figures being murdered in various ways. Well. At least there's plenty of things to draw with, if you get bored. Also, a handy link to the previous post. |

He nods to Hikaru and sets off for the castle. ]

Princess Emeraude...
[The woman nods. Not!Steve sounds confused. No, they'd seen visions of Emeraude before now, as a little girl, not like this. She simply shakes her head.
I am Emeraude of Cefiro.]
...
Emeraude... I...
...
We did as we were asked. Guru Clef and Presea, they helped us awaken the Mashin to come find you, to free you and save this land.
[...Zagato?
It sounds like a question, but she turns to Bucky as though she expects him to answer it.
Did you find Zagato?]
no subject
He faces her expectant expression and just...nods. He's not one to sugarcoat things. ]
Gone. Defeated.
no subject
Hikaru's hands tighten at her sides as she flinches away.. Not!Steve looks towards Bucky. This doesn't look good.
You... are the ones who killed Zagato?
There's the start of tears from her otherwise stony face, before the ground around them knocks them back with a shockwave of force, sending them all flying.
YOU KILLED MY BELOVED ZAGATO??
I HATE YOU!
The castle floor starts to give out as a fifth mashin arises from seemingly nowhere, a white mannequin like face with the beast of a horse. Not that they can see it all that well right this second, because, you know, the floor is completely being destroyed, as is the rest of the castle.
Help??]

She went willingly with Zagato--or this was her plan and he helped--or this was mutually planned, between lovers.
He has no idea how to fix this. He thinks, maybe he can't. All he can think about now is defending himself, even if it means going on the offense against the very person they came here to save. ]
no subject
His sword... Magic Knights... I'll kill you with his very sword!
Anyway, you think Zagato was a hard fight? Hahaha. You are fighting God herself now. If you're gonna find a way through to the Pillar, you might want to think fast.]
no subject
Sorry, our bad?
We thought he needed to be killed?
Even if it's accurate, it's going to be cold comfort. Killing someone you care about and saying "oopsie" is only going to make things worse. So he tries for a different angle as he's barely able to defend himself. ]
We were trying to ensure you had your freedom!

For a moment, her image flickers to that of a little girl, the princess halting like a machine with a short, before continuing her pursuit. She is descending on Steve.]

He races for him and dives in front of him, ready to take whatever hit the princess has ready for him. ]
no subject
I will make you suffer, Magic Knights! I will not let you die easily!! I loathe you!!!
Once again, the image flickers to the little girl. Bucky can faintly hear another voice, a younger voice, calling out beyond the screams of the angered woman in front of them.
The air before her implodes, first in, then rapidly blasting outwards. Wow y'all are lucky to be inside robots, you are all bleeding a lot as it is!! Anyway, looks like team magic knight is blasting off again, by that I mean they all eat dirt.]

When he forces himself back up, though, he thinks back to that attack just now, beyond the pain of it. ]
There's a little girl in there... [ he almost asks Hikaru what to do next, since she knows Emeraude better than he does, but like. clearly not, if she blundered into this mess just as badly as he did.
There's a little girl past the...righteously painful anger and he has no idea what to say to her. He's never been good at the talking part of these things, but...he's got to try, right? ]
Hey, kid! If you're scared, you don't have to be anymore!
[ IS THIS ANYTHING????? ]

Steve scrambles to try and heal Bucky's shoulder, even as all three of them hear a voice - not in their ears, but from deep with their souls, very young and hard to place for a direction.
Magic Knights.
It is not my fear that drives me.
Considering Hikaru is now the target of the next attack and Bucky is Bleeding Everywhere, Steve gets to be the one to ask the obvious question out loud. Where are you, kid? Are you still locked up? Just say the word and they'll come find you.
...
No. This is me, in the Mashin.
I am the foolish woman who chose to ignore her duty, and make a selfish choice.
Hikaru is already in tears as she barely counters Emeraude's blade, only to be knocked flying into a cliffside, blowing the wind out of her.]
no subject
He can, however, keep talking! ]
Did you choose to take on that duty in the first place, though?
no subject
I chose to accept the role as the Pillar. I chose to summon you, my Magic Knights.
And I was the one who chose to forsake my role. None of this was a fault of Zagato's... it was all mine.
As Emeraude beats the red Mashin and chases them into the reaches of the clouds, Hikaru's eyes have completely clouded, some of the scenery turning to static, as though this is a memory that's just barely hanging together. But Bucky can still hear everything perfectly.
Surely you have been told that belief is your power here. In Cefiro, everything is decided by the heart. The Pillar must pray for this world's peace and happiness, nothing more. But... in despite of my duty, I fell in love.
Cefiro fell from my thoughts. All I wished was for him to be happy.]
no subject
Still... ]
Yeah, well...then this whole world's stupid!
What kind of messed up place needs a person to pray for it all the damn time and do nothing else just to stay stable? That's a load of bull.
no subject
I failed.
"Then why did you call us here", calls Steve, who is no longer Steve, but now a girl of Hikaru's age, with blonde hair in a bob and a fiercely compassionate pain in her eyes. "If it wasn't to rescue you, then why--"
From above them, Hikaru is batted to the ground and falls like a ton of bricks straight into the earth.]

It's Hikaru that wheezes out an answer, pushing herself up. Her arm is visibly broken, blood running from her mouth, her words stumbling from her mouth as tears run down her face.]
...She summoned us to save Cefiro, not her. It... it was never to save her.
[Yes.
The Pillar cannot harm themselves, nor can anyone from Cefiro harm the Pillar. It is how this position stays safe. However, there is an alternative. If the Pillar's heart were to stray to evil or fall to despair... then I, and only I, possess the power to summon three from outside the reaches of our universe.
I summoned you, Magic Knights, so that you would kill me.]

The sky starts to shatter like glass, the ground beneath them shifting and crumbling with an unearthly roar.
Please. In moments, nothing will be left in my heart but hatred. I will have the power to pray for the absolute destruction of this world, its people, and yourselves.
Please. Kill me. My heart only thinks of Zagato. Please... send me to him. Let me pray for the man I love and nothing more.]
no subject
But fine. If this is what she wants, then so be it.
He goes in for the kill, stabbing her clean through the heart with his sword. ]
no subject
Her chest is split near in two. And Emeraude gasps out her breath, crumbling.
Finally.
I am yours... and yours alone...
Zagato.
Her body slowly dissolves into a pillar of light, expanding outward, blinding, swallowing up the three knights--
Bucky will open his eyes, and he is himself. He is on an observatory deck, overlooking a metropolis of some kind. There are crowds ogling out the windows at a brilliant light outside.
And, in the middle of the floor, gripping each other and weeping, are three 14 year old girls, sinking to the floor, Hikaru wailing.]
It's not fair!! IT'S NOT FAIR!!

Regret billows in your chest like a vice to the heart. You never want to feel like this again. You never, ever want to feel regrets again, so deeply, so bitterly that you feel like you might break and bleed on the floor.
Bucky will wake up, and he will be back in the portal, tipping into someone else's memory. It seems, for now, he is done.]
