GRAVEYARD 2.0

GRAVEYARD

Well, that sucked.

But no matter what your death was like—whether it was something peaceful or traumatic, you'll find yourself waking in a completely white room on the floor. Small and empty, there isn't anything else there besides an open door to walk through. But before you do that, you'll probably notice that whatever injuries you may have had, including whatever may have been the death blow, are now gone. That's exciting.

Stepping out of the room, it seems that you're in a large... house? with three different floors. Everything from floor, ceiling to furniture is completely white, except for the drawings that are plastered to the walls in each room. These are all colorful, drawn in colored pencils and crayon, and resemble a child's drawing. The other notable thing are the windows. While they're present all around the building, looking out of them only shows TV static. Besides that, everything is furnished with the absolute bare minimum of each room.

The first floor is all typical common areas one would find in a house. There's a kitchen, living room area, laundry room, dining room, and a main hallway where the stairs are. There are also helpful drawings in these rooms that show the rooms much more lavishly decorated than they actually are. There's a door that appears to be the way to exit the building, it's locked.

The second floor consists of nothing but twenty bedrooms. Each room has one queen sized bed, an empty dresser, and an attached bathroom with only a sink, toilet, and shower. Like the first floor, each bedroom has drawn pictures that show it looking much more lavish than it actually does. Thanks for nothing, artist!

The third floor only has two rooms. One appears to be a home office with nothing but a desk and two chairs, one behind it and one in front of it. While there's blank pieces of paper and crayons on the desk, the note that was previously there is gone.

The other room is much larger, and it's completely empty save for the many drawings lining its walls— in fact, the walls are covered in them, much more than in any other room. On closer inspection, though, it seems like these aren't actually drawings? The papers seem to be showing scenes from the living area. Everything from inside the hotel to the areas beyond the bridge are visible here. However, when curfew hits on Thursday nights, they revert to being normal drawings! Except for the fact that they're all drawings of stick figures being murdered in various ways.

Well. At least there's plenty of things to draw with, if you get bored.

Also, a handy link to the previous post.

[ Kano looks a bit taken aback, expecting boys for as much as Shiro's mentioned having sons. But twin girls with red hair—

he looks at Sumi and makes the facial expression equivalent of ??? ]

[Oh.

Hate this.

Sumire absolutely recognizes these twin girls, and it shows in her expression. She sinks down completely behind the pews, closing her eyes profusely. And then she gently points at the door they just entered through. Wow. Maybe they should have taken their chances with the coal.]

[If they want to mess with the coal tars they can, because a few of them are floating around the church. But there is also a cat who is jumping around and trying to catch them too. The fact that the cat has two tails might be sus.

But not nearly as sus as the distinct feeling that the two of them are being watched by another entity entirely, and not by something friendly. They will feel like they are being hunted.

[ Hate this!!!

The feeling of being watched- judged- hunted, it's especially heavy and Kano can't help but tug at his hood and make sure it's pulled over his head as far as it will go, to conceal him from those knowing eyes. He doesn't want to stay here, for as much protection as a church could offer them (how much, when there's a demon cat running around here? how much, when Kano himself was able to step foot inside?) but he can't decide whether to grab Shiro and the girls or lead whatever this is away from them.

First things first, he grabs Sumi's hand so he can urge her onto her feet. He pulls her towards the pulpit, large enough for her to resume crouching behind after, but it will also give Kano a good view of the entire room while keeping an eye and ear out for that side door with Shiro and the girls. ]

[Really glad Kano is already sweating over a snake while Sumire just thinks they accidentally set the palace security to 99%. Awful.

She allows Kano to lead the way, her other hand moving to her rapier — assuming it's still there. If it is and so is the rest of her inventory, she will also slide a scalpel over to Kano. Is this a terrible idea? Maybe so. But it's fine. Please do not notice them, little demons. She is going to carefully look around to try and get a sense of, uh, what exactly is watching them. ]

[They can definitely have their weapons, and they might need it. The inside of the church remains undisturbed for now- minus the cat batting around a coal tar- but it's what's outside of the church that they need to worry about.

A shadow of something long and slithering slides across the tall, skinny church windows, winding around the church, layering itself around the outside. How is the snake this big? Good question.

[ Love that Kano's apparent default weapon is the scalpel. He takes it and keeps it on hand, but not with giving Sumi a weird look for having one. He sees the shadow of the snake and does some quick mental math in his head— they need one more person, and a whole lot of luck.

Hide or run, hide or run. They're trapped in here, but trying to go outside, they'd just be running straight into that monster's jaws.

Kano looks around the pulpit to see if there's any purified salt or holy water or demon warding talismans or something WHY WOULDN'T THE CHUCH HAVE THIS STUFF, IT'S A STAPLE ]

[Look. Listen. Sometimes you steal a lot of shit and nobody loots your corpse during trial.

Sumire glances in the direction of where they previously spotted Shiro and the Great Value Yoshizawas, hoping she can still get a visual on them, and thinks. Very, very quietly, for Kano's ears only:]

Do you think that was the real Fujimoto-san?

[Because whatever they do, they should probably account for him... right?]
