[ she nods back, following along quickly!! like rabbits. it's kind of fun sneaking around like this. anyway, whenever they get to where they're going: ]
[ it's mostly long hallways and doors that rabbit ignores until they reach their destination.
rabbit pushes the door open and it's--well, a bedroom. more specifically, it looks like a girl's bedroom, with soft colors, a desk, and a bed covered in stuffed animals. cozy.
when rabbit shuts the door behind them, they turn back to hilda. ]
[ she's going to commandeer one of the stuffed animals, casually squeezing it between her hands. it's much easier to get comfortable now that she knows who she's talking to... kind of. ]
Does that mean you guys decided it was okay to take off the masks sometimes?
No, that's fine. There are actually some things I'd like to tell you, so maybe your questions will overlap. But please ask whatever you'd like and I'll try to answer.
Well... their souls are being kept somewhere else. So, you can say they were removed from this specific plane, and their souls were place in a different one.
They're safe, don't worry. If things go well... they should even be able to be brought back.
[ she looks down. ]
And... since you did what you did, even Cater should be fine. [ and she looks back up, very quickly. ] May I call you Goneril-san? Or Hilda-san? I'm sorry, I've been very informal this whole time since none of the other Leaders used honorifcs. I didn't want to be the odd one out.
[ her shoulders sag a little with relief, a tension she didn't realize she was carrying. that's... better than expected. almost better than she can believe, considering how well resurrection goes in femblem land, but things are beyond weird here already. ]
Really...? That's great. I'd like a chance to say sorry, if I can.
[ not that she expects cater to forgive her or anything. she doesn't regret what she did, but it's regretful it had to come to that. either way, she shakes her head. ]
Oh, Hilda is just fine. Lord Goneril is my brother, and I'm not about formalities anyway. Do you remember your name?
No, I don't... it's just that none of the other Leaders used honorifics for some reason, so I was worried about standing out if I did. Even if it felt right.
[ she claps once. ]
I did remember something else though! About my life before this.
It's... actually pretty complicated. But the basic summary of it was that some people and I seemed to be caught in a time loop? We kept repeating the same two weeks over and over again.
Mmhm, mmhm. Wonder if I should lie to Won, then...
[ lol ]
Oh, speaking of! I did figure out what happened with Sharon. So you didn't miss another splintering—seems like she just lost something really important and wanted it back. [ unfortunate, but simple enough? ] It's Virid I'm still not sure about... have you learned anything about what happened there, Bunny? I hear someone told him to kill Hajime.
[ re: the sharon thing. on one hand, yay no splintering. on the other, people killing for other reasons is still not ideal. ]
But no... a few people have approached me asking about that. I'm not sure if we'll figure out what happened there though, unless we approach it in a completely different way than we have been.
[ it's pretty bad either way—they'd gotten lucky enough to figure out what happened this time, but more murder just makes things more confusing, leaves more stray threads they have to unravel.
they'll just have to see what happens now. ]
Yeah? Do you have any ideas how? It's hard to even know who to trust when it could've been a leader behind this mess...
Mm. But... we also don't know the reasons. People have said that apparently Viridian-kun said that the person who told him to do it had a good reason. So maybe the situation was a similar one?
All we know is that the disturbance that happened that day was connected to him killing. But we don't know for sure if he killed because of it, or if he caused it, since none of us were awake when it occurred. We've mostly been assuming that he was the one who caused it. But it could be a case of a Leader noticing something that the rest of us didn't, I don't know... I don't want to think that there was something malicious in mind.
[ she's not actually that optimistic, but she smiles anyway, raising a brow a little. ]
Yeah, it could be a situation like ours. It sounds similar from what I've heard, anyway—that he had to kill her specifically to prevent some... other problem.
[ was that just to mislead him? or is there something they're not all seeing yet? they'll just have to figure that out. ] If you couldn't communicate what was happening last week to the other leaders, then maybe they couldn't either.
Um, we're trying to see if we can figure out a way to read the Realm's memories. Maybe if we manage that, we can look into what happened that night. But... we're actually not really sure how to go about it, so it might take a bit.

Aww, what were you hiding your face away for? You're so cute!

All right—I'll keep how adorable you are a secret.
[ though unfortunately she's not just here to be gal pals. ]
Sorry, you brought me all the way to your room and I just have a bunch of boring questions for you today.
