I haven't given a hug in a while! Let's see...here goes nothing!
[ how tall is goat. it doesn't even matter. they are getting a big, warm, strong arm xie lian hug that will probably lift them off of their feet a little bit.
[ yeah they're absolutely getting picked up off of the ground a little bit with this hug then. nice and warm. nice and cozy. very strong arms, very good for huggin.
he sets them down properly once the hug feels like it's lasted an appropriate amount of time - anything else would probably embarrass him - and then smiles, clasping his hands together. ] So?
I see, I see! Well, you'll have to let me know if it does, alright? I'll spread the word to the others, if I can.
[ as he steps back, some of the brighter, more playful energy fades off of him. ] I do mean what I say, Brother Goat. Thank you.
[ there's a beat. it seems like he might be ready to say his goodbyes, but, xie lian pauses. ] ...Say, you remember our exchange, right? Would you be willing to trade a memory with me, again?
Well, you've told me your age - or something close to it. I think that's good enough.
[ the last bit of cheer fades from xie lian's face. ] ...The thing that I will share with you, is something that almost no one knows. I thought...until today, even, I thought I was the last person alive who knew it.
[ his mouth twitches up a little. ] Well. I suppose in some ways, I still am. At any rate.
...This is not the first time that I have dealt with something like this, Brother Goat. At least... like what we dealt with over this past weekend. The memory I would like you to hold onto for me is simply a sentence, if that's alright, and not a pleasant one. If something happens, and I forget everything that I know - or, if something else happens to me in my time here, then I don't want the knowledge to disappear.
It may not make much sense without context, but that, I think, is for the best. [ he takes a deep breath, loosening the stone at his chest he's held onto since his first descent. ]
