You've got your own, I don't need my sword to teach you. [ but they seem to realize that's a dick move even for them and they sigh ] Alright. Guess we're making a pit stop to the castle.
[ here they are in the castle!!! Inside is a large hall with various doors, though Wolf takes them up the staircase to a very specific door in particular... and unlike the rest of the seemingly lavish if a bit boringly painted castle, this looks like the... inside of an abandoned church? What? It's a huge space, nice looking space for a church in mild disrepair in the middle of a castle?
There's a hole in the ceiling of it, even though they're inside and that makes no sense, and it shines a light on a patch of flowers. One of the pews has been replaced with a terrible looking cot, and next to that cot is a comically large sword, which Wolf picks up with ease, one-handed. ]
[ the second they get into the castle lup really just wants to touch everything and she's not sorry about it. she behaves herself but she definitely makes grabby hands at stuff without actually grabbing.
she's a little in awe of the huge church, actually. ]
Oh, it's bigger on the inside... [ she mumbles, running her hand along one of the pews. a beat. she's going to shame him about his cot but he takes his mask off and she immediately looks shocked. ]
Oh - oh, you're cute? Huh. [ ... ] Are you sure it's okay for you to do that? Just out here, uh - breaking protocol, huh?
[ it's a very pretty church, she's allowed. wolf's without a mask so she can see his eyes dart away as he makes the "i am uncomfortable when we are about me?" face when she calls him cute, but he shrugs the shoulder that's not holding up the Stupidly Big sword ]
Not the first to do it, and no one's melted on the spot yet. So long as it's people we... [ ....... ] Anyway, it's fine.
[ oh no, that's even better. lup's expression softens just a bit. the npcs don't get to feel her feelings though so none sap for you. ]
I trust you too, buddy. [ moving on! ] Okay, so you have to tell me how to hold the sword, because I don't even know how to do that. It's really incredible that I didn't get stabbed to death by a pirate skeleton yesterday.
... I don't think incredible's the word I would use. [ he sounds so tired. he flips the sword and it? sticks? to his back?? magnets??? it's like the entire size of his back, it looks ridiculous. anyway: ] Alright. Yours is one hand, so it's a different grip. I'll demonstrate first and then fix it when you try it on your own.
[ he just immediately assumes she's gonna fuck it up ]
[ dw voice: no. wolf doesn't comment on what the word would've been but grabs the sword and twirls it like a show off before actually demonstrating ]
Grip tight, thumb out-- footwork's half the work in sword fighting, so your stance will matter a lot more. This isn't too heavy, so you'll have an easy time of it.
[ there's a beat when they hear the whispers and. pause. ]
[ ... lup, why... they hand back her cursed sword ] Like I said, most of sword fighting is in the footwork. That means stance. So show me what you think a sword fighting stance looks like.
[ unfortunately despite being a shy and awkward bastard this is business, so Wolf wastes no time correcting her stance so it makes sense. there is going to be some touching and some feet and leg nudging, it's fine. "what exactly is he doing" do i LOOK like i know A SWORD FIGHTING. imagine the steven universe song "you do it for her" in the bg idk ]
More like that. One foot in front of the other, and loosen up a little. You've always got to be ready for movement with a sword. And with one like that, you'll need to dodge unless you can get a shield.
[ i've never seen this before but it's very good and on point. ]
Okay, okay. [ to her credit, she is really is trying. ] I'm decent at dodging. I doubt I'll get lucky enough to find a shield, unless like, I steal Chad's.
[ she shifts, standing in a stance that is marginally more like he instructs. ] Like this?
Wow. Never thought I'd be glad I had to name myself after a mask. [ once Lup seems to be in a good stance, he steps back and takes his own sword out, wrapping both hands around the handle and raising it in a defensive stance. considering the marks on it, it's obvious he does this often ] Alright. Stance is good, so... Try and strike at me. See how that translates to form so far.
[ but - ooh boy. she looks determined, for the second. she shifts, and then moves forward to hit his sword with hers. it's not bad - it's not great, but she's clearly trying to keep in mind what he's been telling her. footwork. she's careful about it. ]
Nope. No memories. [ he watches her go, and it doesn't take much to block that strike, though he's clearly watching her feet more than her blade. ] Not bad. Let's keep at that for a bit. The more you do it, the more natural it'll feel.

lup looks vaguely offended at the first part, but it's fine, pit stop just gets her to look excited. ]
Yeah! Hell yeah. Pit stop, let's go.

[ a little warily, but there they go!!! towards the castle!!! im not describing it immediately because im cooking!!! ]

When have I ever made you regret something? [ wolf: pulls out a long, itemized list, starting with crab
no she'll behave. she follows them along and keeps her hands to herself. ]

Is the word you'd use "lucky?" [ she looks very impressed at the magnet stick to his back. how does that even... work... ]
But - yeah. Okay. Here. [ she assumes he wants to hold her sword so enjoy the weird whispering when you hold onto it. ]

Ooh, jokes! Look at you go! [ she lets him arrange her, though. ] Uh - Bucky? I think that's his actual name.
