I don't know, you'd have to ask them. It just does. Master Yen Sid told me that it took forever to make them because they had very special powers. And I know they help protect from the darkness. But everything else...[big ol' shrug. he doesn't know the mechanics, he just figures it out in trial and error.]

Maybe it's not as weird as you think it should be? [hmmm.] But yeah, I guess so. All of us got new outfits to help on our journey and Master Yen Sid gave them out before we left the tower. He's a sorcerer and he used to be the King's master.
King Mickey! He's the king from Donald and Goofy's world. He's a Keyblade wielder like me and my other friends, and he was traveling with Riku for a long time while some of the others were training and we were fighting the Heartless in other worlds.
Other worlds... [ it's said pensively, but then they sigh ] Okay, okay, in order: what's a Keyblade, who are your friends, who's Riku and what's a Heartless? I think I've got it all. Those were like, so many words I didn't understand.
[he holds up a hand to tick off points by counting on his fingers.] A Keyblade is my weapon! It's...probably exactly what you're thinking. It's like a sword but it's shaped like a key, and magic. I've been a Keyblade wielder for a few years. I have a lot of friends, but the ones who can wield Keyblades are the King, me, Riku, Kairi, Aqua, Terra, Ven, Axel, Roxas and Xion. Riku and Kairi are my best friends. Riku's a Keyblade master. And a Heartless is a monster that seeks out the darkness in a person's heart to consume it. If a person loses their heart to the darkness, they become a Heartless, too.
Wow that's a lot of friends. [ they sound a little awed before pulling back to count on their fingers ] Okay. Magic sword that's also a key, you wield it, your friend Riku's a master, you have a ton of friends but Riku and Kairi are your best friends, and--

Ow! [no!! he leans back a little and rubs his ear with a frown.] Yeah, that's what the Keyblade's for. As long as the darkness existed, Heartless could exist. Heartless would swarm anywhere they could and if a person lost their heart they lost their body usually, too. What was left behind would be a Nobody. So we needed to use the Keyblade to help keep all the worlds safe by getting rid of them and locking the world's heart so they couldn't come back. [...] When all of this first started, it was because of one man who wanted to create this thing called a Ο-blade. We didn't know it at the time because...[...well it doesn't matter right now.] It's a long story. Anyway, he wanted to use it to summon Kingdom Hearts, the heart of all worlds. He thought that he could use it to destroy all of the worlds to save them from the darkness and control them. But he was wrong. That wasn't possible, and it wasn't what Kingdom Hearts was for.
So...the battle's finally over. We beat him and sealed Kingdom Hearts for good. No more Heartless. [.....hopefully.]
A good thing... [ they repeat it with a sigh ] I'm sorry you got pulled away from that just to have to help save the worlds again, but I'm kind of glad you've got experience with stuff like this.
It's not your fault. This place needs our help, so that's what we're going to do. [...] Fox told me that time isn't moving at home. Is that true? Are we really going back exactly where we came from?
Obviously. [it can be a pretend-joke.] I'll have to hang out with all three of you just to make sure nobody knows I'm on your team, but I'll spend more time with you.
Right. [ they sound sheepish and. a little reluctant, but they get up, offering him a hand ] I should get back to the Castle anyway. It was so nice to meet you, Sora. Thanks for calling me!
