Probably. [he'll at least admit it.] I just don't think you have to be social in order to like people enough.

I like ... some people, I guess.

Probably most of them are back with my memories.

That's better than nothing. But even if you don't remember them, you remember they had to exist at one point.

Can I ask you one more thing if I promise it's not about you not wanting to make friends?

[retellers]

Your thoughts about what happened with Virid. We've been hearing that it must have been one of you guys who asked him to do it.

[retellers]

It's what the kid seemed to be implying. [ they shrug ] ... It makes sense with what's happened so far.

[reconnective]

But...why? Why would somebody ask him to do something like that? What was there to gain?

[retellers]

I don't know. You talked to him yourself, didn't you? Whatever reason they had, it seemed to work on him.

[reconnective]

Yeah but it's not like he was really happy about giving me answers. [...] You can't think of any reason they would've told him?

[retellers]

No. He clearly didn't know about the memory thing beforehand, and the wish thing would've been my guess, but that wasn't it.

[reconnective]

It's weird. He said that he didn't really disagree with their reasoning, but he couldn't tell me what it was. I thought maybe you guys had talked about it before this happened or something.

[retellers]

No. Whatever his reason, the only one who knows is whoever talked to him first.

[reconnective]

...think whoever it was is going to ask another one of their team members to do it again? You're not worried?

[retellers]

They might have already. But unless you guys catch them, there's no way of knowing who that was.

[reconnective]

Then...what's your advice for trying to catch them? You guys want to stop this too, don't you?

[retellers]

Don't trust anyone at their word. When you feel stumped, double check every information you have. [ wolf shrugs ] I'm not a mystery guy. I can't say I'd have done any better than you did this weekend.

[reconnective]

[wow.]

That's actually very solid advice. I think...there're so many of us, people forget to go back and check everything.

Do you know why the Realm only gave us nine hours?

[retellers]

Originally, it was because the whole thing made it unstable. Anything longer than that and something might have happened. Now, it's probably just established it as a pattern.

[reconnective]

Like a program. [he doesn't know computer very well, but he knows that much.] Is there anything we can do to change the pattern? If the Realm's responding to us and stuff.

[retellers]

Start by not killing each other for a week, probably.

[reconnective]

Yeah. I'd really love that. [flatly.] I don't know how to stop it, Wolf. And if I could, I would.

[retellers]

Yeah. That's exactly the problem. There's no way to stop it. We just have to hope we get things done before there's none of you left.

[reconnective]

And there's still really nothing else we can do to speed things up or have a bigger impact?
