That's probably a good thing though. It would be terrible if this got easier.

... Yeah, I don't think it'd be a good thing to get used to this. Like you've just gone dead inside due to everything happening around you.

I hate the dread, but I'll take it over feeling nothing.

I think it's a good reminder of the person you are, too.

Yeah. Even if you lose your memories, who you are at your core doesn't change.

At least... I think it doesn't. [ she wants to believe this is who she is, even without her memories. ]

I think that... sometimes it depends on the memory. Since there are times where a major moment or person in your life might completely change your world view on things.

[ so losing that moment may change a lot about you. ]

Something so deep and important it changes who you are as a person...?

I think it happened to Raven, the week he died. But I think sometimes it might not be outwardly noticeable.

I... suppose if it's something inside of you, then it's still you. It's just whether the people around you see it as "you", or not.

... yeah. Every version of you is still technically you, but the "you" that's current might not be the "you" that other people prefer, or vice versa.

Sometimes you might not even know who the "you" other people prefer is. It's complicated, isn't it?

It is... although the concept of the self seems like it would be, I guess.

I think this is treading into a philosophical territory that's waaay beyond me.

Aha, me too... I don't usually have to think about these kinds of things.

Me neither. It's definitely not a field I know anything about so... maybe we'll just... hope that people don't change too much if they lose their memories going forward.

Right... and everyone has been rather kind to people who have forgotten major things like that.

I think that's the basic nature of a lot of people here. There have been people I don't agree with all the time, but... they're all kind in their own ways, don't you think?

Not the sort of people who'd shun or abandon someone for forgetting something when it isn't their fault.

Things really could have gone a lot differently if there were certain changes, huh...

[ different people. maybe different death orders, so people who became rocks for others never got that chance. it's a little sad to think about. ]

But I do think everyone is kind, yes, even if some try very hard to hide it.

Or they just have different ways of expressing that kindness, that others don't understand. Like showing you care rather than saying you do.
