[ she feels awkward about it though. ]

I just thought I should introduce myself.

[ awkward is fine, probably. ]

I'm Rabbit. But you probably know that already...

Which you... Also probably knew. I think.

[ she is actually very unclear on what they do and don't know ]

Oh. Yes. But it's good to introduce yourself properly... right?

[ they clear their throat. ]

Um, is there anything you'd like to talk about?

[stillnot]

Yeah...

[ she looks briefly alarmed, because she doesn't really have anything in particular to talk about but then! oh! an excuse! ]

Can you guys make new constellations in the planetarium?

[retellers]

[ it's obvious they were not expecting that. ]

Did you want something up there?

[stillnot]

Yeah. It's not important or anything, I just thought it would be fun.

[ she's self conscious... ]

I can see if I can try! I never really thought about it.

[stillnot]

Blanca wanted a constellation of a pretty woman. I guess that's pretty vague, though.

[retellers]

Oh...

[ they tap their chin. ]

I wonder what he considers pretty?

But... It's not like you can get that across with stars.

[ hm... ]

I'll see if I can even manage it.

So what sort of stuff... Can you do? How come we had to go pick up stuff laying around town, and how come there are still locked doors?

[ can't you do it yourself? can't you unlock them? she is trying not to sound too accusatory here. ]

We can't do any nova collecting on our own. If we were the ones who picked up any of those items, nothing would have happened.

[ a pause. ]

We can't get into the locked doors since they were already locked when we arrived, which means they're supposed to be that way. The planetarium was something we locked ourselves when you got here, which is why we could open it earlier in the week.

[stillnot]

[ huh. interesting. so then are the locked doors going to open? she's not sure rabbit will have an answer for that. ]

But we picked them up, so... Something happened?

[retellers]

No, you all can collect nova. It's basically...

[ they tap their chin again. ]

You were brought here to collect nova. I don't know if there is something about you all specifically that made it possible for you to, or if it's an ability the Realm gave you, or what. But your group are the only ones here who can.

The six of us Leaders were brought to watch over to you, and to try to block whatever is taking the nova to hurt you all as well. The problem there is that since the Realm has been weakened, our protection can't be 100% since the power to protect you comes from it.

[stillnot]

Does that mean you'll get stronger the more nova we get? Or does collecting nova not help the, uh... Realm... to get stronger again?

[retellers]

We think so. As long as whatever is taking the nova doesn't also get stronger, it should be fine.

[ they quickly add. ]

We're not expecting that it will or anything! It's just... we need to keep that in mind as a possibility.

[stillnot]

No, that's super ominous. That's what's going to happen.

So - what happens then?

[retellers]

[ they frown. ]

... well, if whatever is taking the nova gets stronger, then it means what happens here is going to get less and less stable. It'll become dangerous, most likely.

[stillnot]

But it isn't dangerous for now?

[retellers]

Even more.

So... we need to try to make sure that doesn't happen before we can get you all home.

[stillnot]

[ she doesn't like that this feels like an interrogation but all she has is?? questions?? ]

... Can I ask what the deal is with the teams? What's the point if we all have the same goal?

[retellers]

Well, see, the original reason you were split up is because of how our powers work. We can only protect a certain amount of you or else our powers will be too strained. So you were split up among us instead. Whoever's team your on is just that Leader is specifically keeping your memories as safe as they can, even though with the Realm weakening that protection isn't complete...

But, um, that just made it easier to make a contest out of it, since you were already on "teams" like that.
