Her nova was splintering. If left unchecked, her memories would permanently break, leaving her as good as dead. Removing her and sending her to this dimension was the only way to stop that, and to prevent the effect from spreading to others.
It's less about keeping secrets and more the rules we're bound by. Again, that bit about not revealing who's on our teams is rather strict--even more so for us--and discussing too much easily approaches that area.
Oh, less "a chance" and more that that's what happened, presuming everyone has been telling the truth. I knew who it was before it even happened, since their team member told one of mine.
Just that I couldn't exactly ask them about it at the time, since that would out my team member, who had yet to share their affiliation at that point.

And what if we, as those who can share our teams freely without consequence, were to keep the living updated on how many kills each team has performed? That way, they can plan accordingly, and coordinate in a way to avoid unnecessary death?

And I imagine that's exactly what happened with Master Shima and his team leader as well.
